Fun Things to do in...

[ Edited ]

Hey Everyone -

I figured we could start an Easter Egg thread! No - I've not gone delusional after devouring half a ton of chocolate, I'm talking about fun little things hidden away within the Final Fantasy games that you can visit, do or interact with during your gameplay.

This thread isn't just about Easter Eggs though, you can post anything that's fun here - whether it's renaming Garnet to Garnet or calling Moguo so many times that he gets really, really annoyed.

Because there's quite a few titles we're dealing with, we'll need to keep this thread nice and tidy. So - if you're letting everyone know about an Easter Egg or fun thing use this format for your post:

Final Fantasy IX - Annoying Moguo!

Whilst gadding about on the World Map, you can call the save moogle - Moguo - any time by pressing Square. Early in the game, a fellow moogle warns you not to annoy this guy....

So annoy him. Call him 16 times without saving and he'll get really, really angry.. he'll even go as far as making threats....

Try it!

Be sure not to give away too much info - what we dont want is users reading everything about the easter egg in this thread and then not trying it for themselves :smileywink:

If you're replying to someone elses suggestion - be sure to quote their hint for clarity.

Have fun, and dont annoy moguo!!!

MB

Re: Fun Things to do in...

In keeping with Final Fantasy 9(my first FF) there is a star trek quote later on in the game where a doctor will shout:

"Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not a miracle worker". A quote made famous from Bones in Star Trek TOS.

Also there is the name Cid, Biggs and Wedge in every Final Fantasy game. It may not always be the name of a person though.

There is a reference to the song "Macarena" in X:

Tidus: We need to head to this Macarena Temple?

Wakka: Macalania Temple.

Tidus: Aye!

In FFIX if you go to the weapons shop in Linblum, he speaks of a man with a giant sword, and spiky blonde hair.

This is Cloud methinks. :smileyvery-happy:

FFVIII:

When you are at the Galbadian Missile Base, you are trying to use a computer terminal to (re)configure missiles. On this terminal, there is an option to view the various equipment involved in the missile strike. By holding down [Triangle] and [Square] press up or down.  Try it and see what happens xD.

FFIX:

fter the final battle in FF IX, the action cuts back to Princess Garnet'scastle, where a play is being performed. The mysterious actor says at one point in the play,
"No Cloud or Squall will hinder us,"
sound familiar?? xD

Re: Fun Things to do in...

not really an easter egg but a funny thing to do.

FFVII: When on the date doing the play  it says

"What do you want the knight to help you with"

Kill the dragon

Kill the king  (choose this)

????????

Dragon walks in holding Aerith and goes, dont forget me, whos your real enemy?

The dragon

the king

that knight (choose this)

then Aerith just kicks everyones ass, including yours, then 10 seconds later say's that was fun.

maybe its just me but asking the knight for help then saying hes the enemy just made me laugh.

Great thread MB! But sadly there are too many hidden things... I've forgoteen most of them :smileysad:

This is a very poorly kept secret, but somewhere on the FF7 world map there is a man in a cave who is sleeping on a bed. Attempt to talk to him and he will mumble in his sleep the number of battles you have fought so far.

As far as I'm aware, its the only way of keeping count of your battles (aside from counting them yourself :smileytongue: )

EDIT: If you are looking for more currency to spend in the Gold Saucer in FF7, try entering and exiting the main entrance several times (you may have to do this dozens of times potentially). Eventually there will be a man standing in the far corner of the main entrace near the save point. Talk to him and he'll make you an interesting offer :smileyhappy:

Re: Fun Things to do in...

Yeah thats how you get mythril to exchange for Aerith's lvl4 limit, if the numbers are the same.

Best FFVII easter egg is going to Nibelheim Mansion Basement on disc 3 :smileyvery-happy:
