i'm playing the japanese version of final fantasy 13 now and this game doesn't deserve a score of 70%

video game journalist either couldn't beat a monster and gave up playing the game or hadn't really played the game properly.

i'm very impressed with final fantasy 13 so far

Reviews mean nothing to FF fans even if it was given 30% i'd still buy it

Wooo...somebody gave an arbitrary number-based score to determine how they felt about a game that I happen to care about...whatever will I do?

Probably reviewed the japanese version, couldn't understand it, and only played 5 hours of it.

On reviewers. You know what gets me with magazine reviewers?.... when they don't even play and finish the game on the default difficulty, and instead speed run it on an easy difficulty and then have the nerve to think their opinion warrents publishing.

Trusting Reviewers is idiotic. They reviewed the Japanese version of the game giving it 70%, How can you rate a game when you can't even understand the majority of the story, it's stupid. I was slightly disappointed with OPM giving it a rating of 9/10 just because of that, I would much more of preferred the review and rating in the issue which they review the ENGLISH version of the game. That's what I'm interested in, I'm not going to buy the Japan on, I'm gonna buy the English, So give me a review of the English game...

I wonder if they played past the first 10 hours?

I wonder if they completed the full 60 hours Storyline playthrough?

I wonder if they completed the additional missions for another 30+ hours?

I wonder if they are playing FFXIII with 'rose tinted' glassed thinking "I wish this was FFVII?

TBH, FF, as a genre/series, has always been a bit like marmite.  Some love it, some don't understand it, some hate it.  IMHO on the trailers and videos we've seen already this game should score no lower than 85%.

To be honest, I think this game will get alot of mixed scores across the board, I reckon it'll be a good game, but we all know Square-Enix could have done better. Added towns, the original combat from the 2006 trailer and not so much of an emphasis on party combat would have gone down a treat.
