They 'remade' all those games for the psx only a few years ago!

As it is, the script would need completely re-translating from scratch. The original translation was absolutely awful, in some places actually making no sense whatsoever where they appeared to not understand what was going on so they used a literal translation instead of making it work in English.

Re-do the script, update graphics, add some voices, redesign some of the dungeons/add bonus dungeons without removing the essence of the story and gameplay and you're onto a winner.

100% spot on, agree completely with what you said. but i wouldn't be dissapointed if they re-vamped the battle system to the current looking one in FF13...imagine how beautiful they could make the materia look too

I meant that there isn't a re-make of them on the DS or even the PS1 versions put up on the PS store yet. When them two aren't even introduced in any form this gen. (While every other upto 8 have) It seems a bit off releasing a FF7 re-make before those.

I'm sure (hopeful) that by the time the FF7 re-make is done they'll probably have released 5&6 on the PS store and it may possibly be next-gen by then. But what with SE putting so much attention towards 7 than any other of their titles it really wouldn't surprise me if they just skipped over those two for the sake of 7. Which would make me rage.
