Upgrading weapons- Question.

In a nutshell have I got this right?

To upgrade a weapon you just use items either found or retrieved after a battle or from the battle field and use the upgrade function at save points. Keep doing it and eventually you'll reach that items MAX potential?

-Certain items speed the process of upgrading up. Offering more EXP to the weapon.

You have to get your Tier 1 weapon from Level 1 to Level 26, at which point it becomes star, when it's a star go into upgrade and see if you have the right item to catalyst it, binding rod requires a Perovskite to upgrade it to Tier 2.

Tier 2 has a max of Level 61, at which point you'll need a Trapezhedron to Catalyst it into the Ultimate Weapon

Re: Upgrading weapons- Question.

That's great info about the upgrading, thanks.

On a similar note...  some weapons require far more XP than others to level up.  Are they generally better weapons?  or are weapons that require less XP to level up more desirable?

Thanks in advance :smileyhappy:

Re: Upgrading weapons- Question.

Different weapons have different additional stats that make them just as desirable..

Re: Upgrading weapons- Question.

Each weapon has a hiddeen level that defines how much xp you get from items.. Yes generally the better the weapon the more it costs to level up, however weapons are really designed for the main roles you want your characters to play, like Beladona wand for Vanell has Improved Debuffing so if you using her to debuff this is the wand for you.   Ligntings lionheart has quick stagger which is invaluable, if you using her as ravager or commando.

Blades like axis blade are faster to use but offer less magic and damage but on long boss fights have better damage output than other weapons also beacuse they have low stats you get more time to get 5 * than if you were using a heavy hitting weapon.  (I think Axis blade is 20 % faster so when your normally at 4 bars with otehr weapons Axis has finished its 5th bar.. )

A majority of it is trial and error, tho ArsenalMarks post on upgrading weapons is really useful for beginenrs to get aquainted with the system.

There is NO BEST weapon as each weapon is situational based on role your mainly using, also weapons have synergies which when paired with the right accessory offer additional bonuses.  Like Random : Chain Fill   (I had this on lightning when fighting the windlasses with a 999% stager point and first hit staggered it, of course its a random skill but for a freeby you cant complain.. )

Once i got a plat, I MAY try and write a complete list for leveling up items and syngergies with each item... Tho thats going to be a mamoth task of of testing each accessory with each weapon lol...

Thanks, that is really very useful and interesting.

I'll look forward to playing around with the options now, I just didn't want to spend xp fruitlessly :smileyhappy:
