Add-On Packs

I've played the Folklore demo and really enjoyed it and so I'm considering getting the full game. However, I was just curious about the add-on packs. Considering how cheap they are, I wouldn't grumble about buying them, but I was just wondering how long they are? Are we talking little ten minute diversions or do they last a bit longer. And do they add anything to the plot either?

Re: Add-On Packs

A lot of the packs that you pay for have four quests, a folk and a costume that is unlocked. Imagine how long it takes to do one of the standard quests, it's about the same. I'd say you get about an hour out of each pack if you didn't get stuck. Then there is often more time spent releasing the karma of the folk you just got. I bought all the packs and don't regret it. The clue is in some of the names of the packs, like "The Origin of Belgae" pack, which explains some of Belgae's past. I typed the descriptions up for the Downloadable Content here. Some of the packs are just for fun.

Re: Add-On Packs

I think it's strange that there are going to be no more packs.

I downloaded the last couple of packs and installed them today, when I went into the "Costume" menu on the main menu there were still two "-----------" as if something is meant to go there once you have it. Are they just going to leave these blank? If so, why are they there? It makes no sense to me why they'd be there if they never intended to use them.

Maybe im just dull but I got about 3-4 hours of play out of the undersea pack (pack 2). I did finish the pack completely though i.e. releasing all of the rare folk's karma and finishing the quests to the highest standard (message from under the sea quest does not need to be finished fully in order to complete it).

I thought there were some tricky puzzles in this pack and I had to do a few quests a couple of times.

Re: Add-On Packs

I wish they would release a costume pack for Ellen. 6-10 new costumes for £1.49. I know i'd buy it.

Re: Add-On Packs

Looks like there has only been one new download pack and that is the Pigly Pig, which we already have. It looks like it has been added to celebrate the platinum version of folksoul. With that, they have updated the little flash preview on the site. http://www.gamerepublic.jp/gamesoft/folks_soul.html There is a purple text menu along the top linking to;
  • Front Page
  • Costumes
  • Realms
  • Folks
  • Pigly pig info
  • Link to the developer blog.
Use the little arrows to navigate the pages under each heading.
