The "Reception" section of the Wikipedia page completely rapes this game. I was thinking of getting it now I'm just scared. Are flaws like repeating stages with each character, the after-menu pause, and other stuff really that bad? I played the demo and thought it was really good...

Well, I did find some of the stages slightly irritating when played when the second character. Further into the game though, the stages do become completely different character to character. There are different folks to catch and different ways to defeat the bosses depending on if your playing as Keats or Ellen. Its a flaw I found easy to live with.

You get used to the after menu pause too and it really isn't that much of a pause to be honest.

I've never played the demo, but the complete game is awesome so don't be put off by wikipedia. I only finished it last week but I'm gonna be downloading the packs and playing again.

I played the demo before buying the full game (no regrets) and from memory, the pauses in game are the same as in the the demo.

As for repeating stages, i dont find that a problem, helps you level up both your own health and the attributes of the folks you've captured.

If i had one request, it would be a telltale, maybe a small purple glowing icon on the screen so i know that one of the folk in the 'room' is required to release Karma.
It could even be expandable so you could see which folk need to level up (saves you hunting through all your folk to find the one you need).

You could check the pre-owned sections or ebay for a cheap copy however this game is REGION LOCKED, you will be able to play the game from any region but the extra content will only work on like region disks.

I might run into some spare money that I can spend guilt free soon. Might invest in Folklore.

IMO, the demo is a disappointment to the real game. I bought it thinking it would be a "ok" game, and have found myself really loving it.

You can't beat Folklore in terms of originality on the PS3, its the most pleasantly surprising game on the console so far.. I looked at it thinking "***?" ( lmao, this is "ftw" backwards <3 forum filters) before i played it, played it for 10 mins at a friends and bought it the next day. Great game.
