I found an article while browsing Eurogamer about EA thinking about using certain features of the upcoming FIFA Street game in FIFA 13.
I know it's still early to wonder how that would work seeing how FIFA Street is not out yet. However I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts on this potentially happening to the next big release of FIFA.
Have a read of the article and let me know what your thoughts are.

Before I read the article I thought (hoped) that we might have been getting a fifa 98esque indoor arena 5 a side type thing. Which I would welcome.
Standing ball control, yeah I'd like to see that, as long as it isn't over the top it could help slow the game down a bit.
In my opinion, fifa is a bit too pacey next to real football, I can understand why though given the 6 minute half lengths and all. But standing ball control could be far more effective, and realistic at getting round defenders rather than the ridiculous skill moves at the minute.

I forgot about the indoor arenas of FIFA 98.
With the standing ball control, as long as they find the right blend between the fast pace of FIFA and having FIFA Street level of ball control it should be cool. I just don't want to be hard to get your head around it as the Tactical defending was in FIFA 12. I still can't really get use to it and I find that the Legacy defending just works better for the way I play.

Personally, I love tactical defending, but that discussion has been and gone. The thing with standing ball control is that given that its an attacking mechanic its entirely optional as to how/if you use it.
Going forward there are so many options, pace, skill moves, possession play etc etc, whereas tactical defending you're in at the deep end as soon as you pick up your controller, its get used to it or get beat by a cricket score.
