Re: FIFA 10 EU Tournament

We're entering the final stages of our FIFA 10 EU Forum Tournament!

Hello all!

So, how's our league table looking?

Position Team P W D L F A GD Pts

1 England 7 6 0 1 63 18 45 18
2 Spain 6 6 0 0 49 12 37 18
3 Poland 6 4 0 2 37 18 19 12
4 Italy 6 4 0 2 40 22 18 12
5 Germany 6 3 0 3 39 23 16 9

Eeek, the German situation is not good!  There's still hope however...

As you can see, England have a game in hand as last week's fixture was a disaster and no one managed to play! So - the following fixtures will be played before Wednesday 5th May:

Italy v Poland
Spain v Germany

After this fixture, the team in last place will be knocked out (along with the drop-outs) and the remaining 4 will proceed to a knockout stage. An independant adjudicator will draw the matches and the losing team from each will be knocked out of the tournament. Our two finalist teams will then duke it out for the title of FIFA Tourny Champions!

Knockout fixtures will be drawn on Wednesday 5th May, with matches played on Thursday 6th.

It's all to play for at the bottom of the table, but one thing is utterly certain... both Spain and England are SAFE!

So - this Thursday we will be fixtureless. Whilst we wait for the other teams to play out their matches, why not join us from 8PM this Thursday for some high quality Be A Pro? All you need to do is join our EU Forum BAP club.

Much love,

Re: FIFA 10 EU Tournament

We're entering the final stages of our FIFA 10 EU Forum Tournament!

So - the league fixtures are now all complete. Out of the 5 remaining teams: England, Germany, Poland, Spain and Italy - one must be eliminated before the Knockout stage :smileyfrustrated:

At the end of the league stage, the league table looks like this:

Position Team P W D L F A GD Pts

1 Spain 7 7 0 0 63 15 48 21
2 England 7 6 0 1 63 18 45 18
3 Italy 7 5 0 2 54 26 28 15
4 Poland 7 4 0 3 41 32 9 12
5 Germany 7 3 0 4 42 37 5 9
6 Russia 7 0 2 5 0 45 -45 2
7 France 7 0 2 5 0 45 -45 2
8 Portugal 7 0 2 5 0 45 -45 2

The German team are knocked out! Suffering defeat at the hands of the seemingly unstoppable Spain, they take 5th place.

We now move on to a Knockout stage. It works like this:

We drew fixtures for the first two matches randomly. The winners of those matches go onwards to the final, whilst the losers duke it out in a last fixture to decide 3rd and 4th place.

The first knockout fixture will be this Thursday (6th May) at 8:30PM BST
The Final and 3rd/4th place decider will take place on 13th May at 8:30PM BST.

The Portuguese, sat in last place, have drawn the fixtures for the first round of knockouts from a hat. It has to be a hat. Those fixtures are:

England v Spain
Italy v Poland

The team on the left is the Home team and will host the match.

SO! All that's left to do is batter Spain, win the final and England will take the throne as the best FIFA players in Europe. Easy right?

Well... no. Spain are undefeated and, sat in their desks behind mine here at SCEE towers, are very cocky about it. I'll be doing my best to break their fingers all week - but if we are to beat them we will need practise.

The team sheet for the quarter-final will be in this thread at 6PM sharp. You'll need to be quick to get your name down. You'll also need to be available both for the match day (6th May - 8:30PM BST) AND for a practise session on Wednesday 5th May at 9PM BST for 1 hour. Do not sign the team sheet unless you can definitely make both sessions!!!

See you on the pitch,
