Okay....

So i bought the new fifa on midnight release and have been playing it for numerous hours now. I wont bore you with the i used to be amazing at the old fifa and am struggling now.....but.

finding the general gameplay annoying, and find myself very frustrated at times, mainly because of how much the cpu absolutely dominates possession every game and once they have the ball your just waiting for them to mess up to regaine the ball. I find it draining.

I can understand the latest fifa gimmick is this new timed tackling, but the cpu just spins and feints they're way through me all the time.

I'm loving going forward with the ball and think the fluency of the attacking side really good. I can't help but think that fifa has improved a hell of a lot but by adding this exagerated cpu possession and pressure overbearing.

I don't want this to seem like a whine because im really passionate about the game and just want a general feedback of how everyone is getting on with it or any help and tips you have found to overcome this.......

I changed the defending back to legacy. Couldn't get on with the new defending system.

Enjoying it much more now.

I agree its taking some getting used to but isnt this what football is about?  Keep hold of the ball, make space to attack and score.  The idea is to stop all the rush tackling because in the real world if everyone did this strikers would punish you time after time.  Im happy they are looking to make the game more realistic and hopefully I can get to grips with it because I havent played online yet.  At the moment I'm only playing on pro and scoring loads but also letting in a few.

another thing iv noticed iv had about 20 games now and no penalty and just one direct fk

I prefer 11 to be honest. I think it's the tackling I just don't like in 12, but some have said you can change it back wich is a good thing. Most store prices are kinda shockingly high so I may just hold off for a few month.

Just saw it on the PS Store for £54.99. An absolute joke of a price to be honest.

Finding it quite difficult myself,had it since yesterday and struggling with the defending tho ill stick with it as its the new system that has to be used online, at one point i gave away 5 penalties in 5 games,computer just seems to keep the ball really well and knows exactly how to evade my tackles,used to playing fifa on world class but im having to stick to pro for now

Stick it on Legendary and see what its like lol,the CPU turns you inside out everytime they get in the box.

I just changed it back to Legacy really not liking the new defending its just to awkward.

how to do change the controls back to like they were on Fifa 11?

I can see me trading this game in for Battlefield at this rate if i can't use the same controls from Fifa 11 in online games. As unfortunately i can't defend at all with these new controls either

I agree with you OP and I'm glad you made the thread.I'm just not getting the hang of this quick enough.But I will stick it out for a bit and try play with the new system.I've the CPU set to Pro and they just run rings around me and my defence are getting caught out too easy(no matter what tactic I use).

Now it's a bit of shell shock trying to adjust to the new controls and as much as I keep telling myself during a game to stop trying to press X and sprint off the ball,I keep doing it.Then I end up fumbling the new control system in a panic..ie jockey too late,jockey with the wrong player,go to pull the opposing player and perform a standing tackle.By which time he's miles past me!!

I'd like to hear from some people who are actually getting on with the new system and how they are doing it.In my case I think a couple of words spring to mind...Old Dog New Tricks!!But I will perservere.
