Xray-8 are planning to run a small-scale, friendly FIFA League as part of our ongoing series of FIFA Events. As the title suggests, this is called the 'Relegation Battle'. We feel that often enough other tournaments and leagues predominantly feature some of the best teams in Europe, so this will keep it interesting and be something completely different. 

The premise is simple; it is a league whereby each player plays each other once. Three points for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss. GD does count. Playing one single game that can be drawn will add to frustration, as well as the tension that accompanies a real life relegation fight. Standard in-game match settings will apply. The following teams will be randomly allocated, all of which, as of 4.30PM on the 20th February are in the bottom three of Europes three 'big leagues':

1. Wigan Athletic
2. West Ham United
3. Wolves
4. Real Zaragoza
5. UD Almeria
6. Malaga CF
7. Brescia
8. Cesena
9. Bari

If, there are more than nine sign-ups. The following teams will be used from the Bundesliga:

1. 1. FC Kaiserslautern
2. VfB Stuttgart
3. Borussia M'gladbach

We currently have 7 players signed up and are looking for more players to join us in this friendly, light-hearted but competitive event, which we plan will last just a couple of weeks. If you would live to take part, register on our forum and post in the sign-up thread -here.

I would but I'm too busy, I think someone should do a "Football League" league, That would be a different story

Actually, we are planning to do a Football League thing soon. A couple of people quite fancy either a Championship or League 1 based league, so after this is completed we will be doing that.

Ah thats a shame, but it is just so that we can get in touch with everyone easily. But we have a nice little mature community over there that do all kinds of FIFA related stuff (Tournaments, clubs, leagues and also compete on various ladder websites); so if you do fancy it, I can promise it won't be a waste of your effort. And that goes for anyone else looking.

Registration takes little more than two minutes. Or a few more if you decide to grab a cuppa tea or beer in between

Yeah signing up doesn't take long at all, it's like leagues that you may have seen on other gaming sites, but instead of being 5 star teams etc. it's a little more competitive with lower rated teams.

I'll be recording my matches with people to so I can stick the matches it in a montage when everything is complete as I've been meaning to make a FIFA 11 one, just haven't got round to it so this is a good opportunity.
