Got a problem with fifa 09, where it keeps freezing in 2 player mode within the first few seconds of a match, the disc is free from scratches, any one else have this problem? Works fine in single player mode.

Nope not had this problem, do you get trouble with any other discs?

no tried all other games seems fine, just searched the forums and there's another thread 'Fifa 09 stalling problem'  who seems to have had the same problem, will give it a go on my mates ps3 see what happens

nope no worries of that here and i have played multiplayer A LOT recently with all the parties as we thought of some good drinking games to go along with it. and don't worry no ps3's were harmed during our stupidity.          haha

I had it once... but had loads and loads of 2 player games, so once is fine by me.

Try deleting any Fifa 09 data on the PS3 and install the game again. On the fifa forums many 360 users are having problems with the game.

I have the exact same problem. Works fine in single player mode both online and offline but when i try and have a match against my mates it freezes almost directly after kick off. I returned the disc and got a new one but the problem still remains.

I Have just sorted my problem out. If you go onto the xmb menu and delete all fifa 09 data then restart the playstation. This worked on mine, the only downside is that you obviously loose all of your saved data but the multiplayer mode does work.
