New to the forum, so I apologise if there is a more specific place for this sort of query. 

After searching online for a few days, I guess I'll just have to ask the internet this question directly. Basically my '07 FAT ps3, which sits vertically in a stand has begun to act up. If left for a few hours and turned on, it will let me get through to a two player game of FIFA 11 and after a while, during the game the commentary will shut down, the fans will go silent and the scoreboard dissappears. No menu screens will load after this point though the match will continue until the final whistle and crash at the next menu screen. Quit game leads to a blank screen and so the ps3 will have to be shut down by a power out. On a restart, the disk won't be read, or if it is the game fails to load. Does anybody have an idea as to why this strange series of events happens, it has been this way for a few days now and I'm completely at a loss, th econsole is basically unusable obviously.

Not an expert on the subject but if your ps3 is not turning on then it is probably messed up.
