Hi,

I have been a massive fan of Fifa since the early days of Fifa 95 on the Megadrive and all have been very successful. I've played them all for hundreds of hours and when it came to the ps3 this has been no different. I even went and took the time to platinum the last one.

So it comes to Fifa 12. Hmmm well im probably going to get a lot of people against me here but im sad to say that Fifa 12 is the worst Fifa game i've ever played. Infact I got so wound up with Fifa 12 I even stopped playing my Ps3 for a few months because of the annoying-ness of it.

On every Fifa ever made I always turn up the difficulty to the top. So in Fifa 12 I start out on Legendary. Not only does this allow me to get better at the game much quicker but it also proves it's worthwhile online. This cannot be done on this installment of the game. Legendary mode is much too difficult to its predecessor. The AI really knows how to take the (insert word here) out of you. They start doing tricks inside your own 6 yard box and they can even keep the ball for minutes at a time despite how well you close them down before over head kicking the ball in to your net from impossible angles or situations.

This brings me on to the online play. This is what really disappoints me. I always think that playing Fifa offline compared to online is boring. So after playing a season I decide to try it out online. I decide that Im going to support my own team that currently plays in League 1 (Sheffield Wednesday) que everyone to give me even more abuse ;-D

The head 2 head seasons is a brilliant experience and excellent idea however this game only works perfectly for your top teams such as Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Real, Barca etc.Everyone else is left in the gutter. Passing is awful the game is terrible to play and certainly becomes no fun. If you want to play a quick passing game its impossible the movement of players is totally unrealistic. Your players become weak against certain opposition and players. Shooting becomes terrible. The goalkeepers are shocking. Some things you can live with but to see players with an acceleration and pace of 60 beating players who have a pace and acceleration of 90 is poor. It's like a baby beating Ronaldo to the ball

Im really finding it hard to adjust to life on Fifa 12 and its so depressing that like I said above I even put my console down for a couple of Months. I've just had a few games. Won 5 drawn 2 and lost 3. Of the 10 games though it was poor game play and a crap experience compared to Fifa 11 which I could play all night with no problems. It's the speed of the game that becomes the main problem i believe. I don't know why its the case. It seems as though the game has gotten... slower with later updates and patches...

If this is the future of Fifa then im really scared as I dare not turn to the one that is called PES.

I think think EA have installed way to much time on the advanced defensive system etc and have forgotten about the basics of what Fifa actually is. It has so much potential but to me it feels like they chucked it out there just to earn a bit more cash and what will we get in Fifa 13? An advanced attacking system or some sort of better set piece taker...

I hope im not the only one feeling like this and hope people can join in and have a good discussion about this. Im sure there are others out there like myself.

hey had to reply, just wandered if it was just me thats how i found this forum message. i love fifa and like u started on the megadrive on the 96 world cup and have enjoed fifas ever since, even in 04 when u could score from literraly anyway it made the game interesting and a challange. ur are totally right about the defensive system i know why the done it but there was no need and even when u use the old style settings it just doesnt feel the same, ii play a pressing game in all fifas and although of course sometimes it fails it still is not as shocking as how it works in this one, i am having to try and adopt a whole new game and i am finding it difficult. have u found anyway to counter this promblem yourself

Never played the Megadrive fifa's, was a italia 90 guy myself back then.

Fifa's on psOne were good, nothing compared to Soccer 97.

Fifa on ps2 was shockingly awful, yeh I had to up the difficulty to the hardest one straight away too cause it was just too easy. There was a fifa that had curved finesse shots that if you shot outside the area it would curl unrealistically round the keeper (much like the finesse on fifa 11 and 12) I just remember Kevin Nolan being my top scorer each season. 

Hence why a lot of people turned to pes

Fifa on ps3 has been a big step up, the dribble system is the closest we have to realism in a football game. That's why I try to ignore the unrealistic league 2 teams barcelona play.

I've played over 150 head to head's and have not used any of the 5 star teams - it's more of a thinking game and if you make a mistake, or get too impatient, you get punished. Much like real football.

Plus it's hilarious watching someone do 5 tricks only for you to tackle them and go down their end and score
