fifa 12 can not connect online.

hi, ive just bought fifa 12 for my brand new ps3 2 weeks ago and although the online code was accepted properly, i cant access any online activity at all, head to head, friendlies , anything! same is happening with tiger woods- the masters. i havent had a problem with any other game online so i dont believe its an issue from my end. i know a few mates who have the same trouble........anyone got any help please...

Can you access the clubs page by pressing select on the main page?

 

also, do you have a "sign into EA" option on the menu?

ytep...on loading...the icon comes upp "signing into ea servers" automatically.... no problem accessing anything until i try an play an online game be it a friendly or head to head and then after searching for opponent it comes up "connection with opponent lost".
