Gt Spot Nov. 27th Update 1.06 'reset' all my hard earned times in all License and Campaign trials. This is why we race, to compete with friends. All times are just wiped out after countless hours spent by millions of players. When will this happen again, seems arbitrary and capricious to throw customers under the bus like this without offering a solution or the hint of a consideration. The Campaigns apparently were 'reset' to make the tasks more difficult after upgrades to 'some' of the stock cars to make them 'handle' better. Seems it's a wash, some cars handle better so you make it more difficult to get the license, so you wipe out everyone's times? We do not compete just for the Gold License. Getting the Gold is easy. We race for the best times as well as in all racing, fastest lap counts too! You could reinstate the times with an asterisk or as pre. Nov 27th as a show of good faith. Or when is PSN going to do this to us again?
But, the times on here don't mean much, and you've kept credits, trophies and achievements from it.
The cars physics and tyre grip has changed now too, so it's only right that they reset it. Some cars were OP, and some had no grip at all.
If I remember correctly, they did say in the update notes that this would happen too.
If it's just about the competitive edge with your friends, you could just do it again? Surely this actually prolongs that competitive edge too, as most people do it, and once they are done once and don't go back to them again. Those old times wouldn't stand long with the new updates anyway, so it's kind of pointless.
I think their show of good faith is that they are bothering to actually try and fix and incorporate things that people are asking for.
If that means resetting some times on my friends list, I'm down with that.
*runs off to set faster times before the quick guys jump on*
Rankings / Leaderboards are there for a reason and content should be be reset / wiped without a good reason; if not there is no point of having them.
With them on campaign mode we have almost endless time there trying to improve hour times comparing it with others
They announced the reset only in the update details for 1.06 with justification for adjustments to difficulty levels for Driving School and Mission Challenges: "As a consequence of the change to the above difficulty levels, the ranking boards of the Driving School, Mission Challenge, and Circuit Experience have been reset" - see: http://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gtsport/news/00_4843004.html
A good justification to reset them was the remove of times that where impossible to obtain and where done exploring glitch in the game that where corrected. Lowering difficult settings is not one one (but increasing may be).
Again, reset of rankings should be done with care and with an announcement for it in advance.
There is also an issued with this reset as times are only updated online we we beat hour previous time; and this does not make sense. If we obtain a time / result better than one that is recorded online the time should be updated.
The rankings in GT Sport should be present almost anywhere and unfortunately we don't have it in some places; most basic one is in time trials.
Wiped data in update 1.06 is restored in 1.07 and registered times in between are gone! And no warning or justification for it in advance!
The mission times being reset is very frustrating. Your previous best appears to you only as 'your record', but isn't registered on your friends list or in the top ten times. Beating any times on the top ten board is irrelevant as unless it is even quicker than the hard earned record you set, your time will not appear on your friends list or the global boards. Further, the standard of driving in dailys and manufacturer races is appalling. Coming from 5 places back to use someone as a brake continuously ought to be picked up, similarly with leaving the track and rejoining only to sweep the width of the track to hit off anyone coming up behind you. FIA would and should be appalled at the driving standards and until GT sorts this out, then people will only run their own tournaments with drivers who 'move once' and who aren't dirty. If you want to drive arcade style go buy mario kart or dirt 4.
Why have BOP in dailys and manufacturers without 'setup adjustment'. Does GT think that race teams use the same setup for every track? Even amateur karters adjust their setups according to the circuit being raced. Hence a nimble RCZ will out handle a bog standard Mustang. Ridiculous. If you want the reputation of being a realistic race simulator, then reflect what happens in the real world with car setups.
Yeah I like having to setup the gears, like the top speed gearing for how long are the straights are on the track@buzzln80
They listen: Regarding an issue with the Campaign Mode Friend Rankings
As expected, they clarified us about the problem. A new update in the way to address problem; back on track.
"In the correctional update performed on December 6, we have found an issue where old records before the update are still listed in the Friend Rankings of the Campaign Mode.
This issue has been found in the following game modes:
This issue is planned to be fixed within a few days with another update.
Please note it is possible to continue to play the Campaign Mode in the meanwhile, but the records will be deleted at the time of the correctional update. (This will not have any effect to the status of Gold/Silver/Bronze prizes already acquired)
We apologize for the inconvenience."
