Welcome everyone, to the Official PlayStation Community Racing Championship. Season 4.
GT Sport has been out 7 months now. We've all put in a lot of track tie already. We've had our fun with previous 3 seasons. But now it's time to get a bit more serious with some Gr.3 cars. Season 4 is a 10 week championship. There will be 4 different Gr.3 cars in use. With teams split into 4 teams of 4. Representing each manufacturer. All the rules, with tuning, tyre and fuel management will be in play. So your going to have to get along with your teammates to work on a strategy, and squeeze out those few tenths each lap.
As with all OPC events. The championship is open to all drivers of any skill level. Simple copy & paste the driver list below. And add your name to sign-up for the championship. Pop me a Friend Request on PSN if your not already on my Friends List. And you are good to go.
Teams will be announced 1 week before the season starts. Along with what car you will be driving for the championship.

Switched to the basic set-up I had posted in this forum last week. It mean't sacrificing acceleration out of some corners. But it kept the car stable and no worried about tyres or fuel for the race.
Qualifying went much better than expected. Considering how slow I was driving during testing earlier in the day. I was still off the pace of where I felt I should have been. But it was good enough for a good lap in clean air. I went wide on the first corner at my first attempt though. SO had to scrap that. Ran a few more laps to burn off some fuel and put fresh tyres on. Went for another and bumped myself up to 3rd. Knew I could go a lot quicker as I wasn't even in the 29's yet. Another fresh set of tyres and a did a slower lap. So another fresh set. Made a mistake but improved my time. Now up to second on the grid. Was on for a better lap on my next attempt. But got held p by traffic. So that was me. Happy with 2nd considering my afternoon pace.
Omg another awful start off the line. Wishing it was Rolling Starts now. I didn't get the wheel spin I had last week. The initial drive was good. But then it just bogged right now. Everyone passing me. From 2nd to 6th. I got a slight tap on entry to first corner which unsettled me. But quickly got back into the race.
Things just got a bit more frustrating after that. Felt I was much quicker than the few cars ahead of me. I had a few different lines that made me faster in the bits others were slower. But I couldn't take advantage of this. So was getting slowed down. And I couldn't do much in the slipstream as my car was slow on the straights because of how it was geared. And I ended up getting a penalty when I bumped into driver infront as I was accelerating and they were braking. I did brake. But still 10 secs. Seemed a bit harsh. I didn't bother fighting off my teammate. So got some off my penalty off and was now down in 7th.
Found it was easy to shave off a second or so each lap at the hairpin. So got back up to pace. Quickly caught up to the cars ahead. Got past a few times. But because of the above issues. I quickly lost position again. Made pitstops at end of lap 5. Made a pass back up to 6th and broke clear. Think I got up to 5th at one point. But again. Slow car on the straights. Maybe I should have been more aggressive in other parts of the track.
Made second pit stop at end of lap 10. Then the madness happened up ahead. And found myself 4th place some how. Later finding out there was some drama with lapping cars. So I was now looking at a potential 2nd or 3rd place. The leader was well clear. But I made a mistake on lap 11 and got another penalty that I had to get rid off. Which pretty much confirmed my 4th place. Which is a good result considering my awful start and pace earlier in the day. Yay for a bit of luck.
Need to work on my starts for next week. The good news is set-up already seems to be good for Interlagos. So just a few tweaks needed.

Very brief race report from last week, and a heads up.
Qualy went okay.
Got a decent first effort in, and went looking to improve.
But it didn't happen.
Between traffic limiting my opportunities, and my own errors pushing too hard when I did have an opportunity, qualy was over with no improvement.
The race went smooth for me.
Decent get away from the line and held the lead into turn 1.
From there it was steady as she goes.
Struggled with tyre wear the first stint, as I did the week before, so I'm not sure what's happening there.
But I had a no errors race, was able to keep the other guys behind, and no issues to report.
I'll be on soonish/later to test out my alternate internet option to see how it goes.
So if you are looking to do a bit of practice or tuning there's a good chance I'll be around.

We have an odd number of laps for the race. So that makes race strategy more interesting.
And I think we don't have Daz this evening. So if a reserve driver has an Aston. Then come forward and jump in.

A very calm race for me with 2 trips off on the grass and also keep getting pens for going off at turn 4 a few times. plus kept out of way when the blue flags flew and also the replay is shared in game if @PhoeniX-J-five wants to have a look later

Short shifting overall saves more fuel than using fuel mapping think too.@el-ve
