YES! The left joystick did it! I still couldn't do better than second 3 clicks down. And at two clicks down was in first 3 times, but ran out of gas a quarter mile from finish. The fourth time I kept changing lanes the last quarter mile and let the other cars push me across finish first! THANX!@RenegadeXtreme
Can anyone tell me the best settings for GT Sport driving school for beginner? Tires, brakes, etc? Thanks.
There isn't much to tell actually, since Car Settings are not enabled in this mode. The only two things you can change (while driving, not before) are Brake Balance and Traction Control, and there is no general "ideal" setting for these; it depends on the type of car and on your drivig style.@robinrob02
I’ve got couple questions :)))
In your post you said you are a beginner. You are a beginner in GT Sport or racing games in general?
Are you playing with a controller or with wheel?@robinrob02
I've played several of the Gran Turismo games but never able to get my driver's license. I'm on intermediate level 35 now in GT Sport driving school. I'm using controller and in driving options I have transmission automatic, front and rear tires racing hard, traction control 3, driving markers, driving line, asm on, countersteering assist strong, abs default. It takes me several hours to get bronze on each level. Anything I could change to make it easier?@fiore1213
My advice is to watch carefully the videos of the lessons.Try memorizing from where and how the cars pass and behave in them.Focus on being smooth and not aggressive.Try to brake a bit later. All the assists are there to make the car more stable, but what they do slows the car.So in time you might try lowering traction control, switching off counter steering, using manual shifts.@robinrob02
Most of the in-game driving aids are there to help you control the car so you make less mistakes.
The downside of which is that they generally make you slower when looking at raw pace over one lap.
So if @robinrob02 could practice getting used to not using, let's say ASM and CSM first, that would be a good step forward.
ABS brakes at "Default" is a definite, I would advise using that.
TC will also slow you down over the course of a lap, but for some drivers in some cars it's difficult to switch off completely, so don't worry too much there.
Just use the lowest setting you feel comfortable using
The big one would be learning to use manual gears.
A very difficult transition, but ultimately a lot of time to be gained once you get the hang of it.
What I would disagree with though is "Try to brake a bit later."
The biggest mistake I see from drivers struggling on track is trying to brake too late.
Ultimately the car is out of control, entering the corner too fast, causing them to understeer wide on the corner, if not go completely off track.
And instead of saving themselves 1/10th they cost themselves 7 or 8/10ths, or a whole lot more.
My suggestion is to teach yourself to brake earlier.
The first objective is to keep the car pointed in the right direction and under control.
Once you're comfortable with that, then it's time to try braking just that little bit later.
You are totally right about the braking. But I was referring to the braking indicator of the hud which tells you to brake way to early.@Tassie_tiger
It would be best to turn off or ignore those aids.
I suggest to switch on the cone markers and use those (and on-track braking distance boards) as reference for the braking point.
Relying on the in-game functions for "brake alert" or "suggested gear" isn't something I would recommend for someone who has a reasonable grip on what they are doing.
Thanks for the tips. How do you use the cones? It seems there are two types? Orange and orange with horizontal silver stripes.@fiore1213
The first cone is the clipping point or Apex and is what your aiming for, second cone is the exit apex where you should hit the throttle!
Smoothness is very important for hitting your apex’s top cornering speed.@robinrob02
Lost all of my cars in garage expect gift cars. I had 108 cars now I only have 13. I am stunned, I played this game and do the daily mission almost everyday since release. DON'T PLAY THIS GAME you will lose all of your progress any given second!!!!!!
That’s why you should always back up your game saves!
