I have just used this service since I have 2 PS3s, 2 PSPs and have had a total of 7 PS3s since its launch.

It is NOT possible to individually deactivate PS3s for GAME content. However, you CAN deactivate ALL of them with once simple click. The warning states that this can only be done once per 6 month period.

I had 5 activations live, and only 2 in use on the network..... the missing 3 were clearly from dead PS3s that Sony never deactivated although I had requested it, during the 1:1 swap process.

Happy days, I now have the ability to use my spare activations should one of my current PS3s explode.

After you sign in you need to click;

''Account'' > ''Media and Devices'' > ''Game'' then deactive all the consolse you see. You should now be able to activate the one you wish to use from the console itself ;)

Topic on the subject here if you get stuck.

I understand the service is great but it seems it's not available in South Africa till further notice.(I can't login)

and the importer can't help me aswell.

I've E-Mailed the Guys in Sony EU for help I was just hoping there's another way to solve this problem.

Thanks

hey man

I have tried to deactivate the other 4 systems but it keeps telling me that this process can only be done through the PS3 system.

Just wanting a bit of clarification from anyone that can help. I'm currently at the maximum number of activations (I've had a fair few ps3's over the years) but my account is still active on my latest ps3 and I want to keep it that way. I would like to be able to sign in on a friend's console so that I can continue with my multiplayer progress on various games when I visit him. I don't have access to any of the old consoles so will obviously need to use the "deactivate all" function.

My real question is this: will using the deactivate all function block me from using my own current ps3 or can I simply just sign in again and pick up where I left off?

You can use the Sony website to deactivate all the consoles.

You will then need to REACTIVATE your console.

You will then not be able to use the online system for six months.

So what you're saying is that if I want to free up more activations but keep my current console, I have to take a 6 month break from playing online on that current console?

Or by "the online system" do you mean that I won't be able to use the "deactivate all" function for 6 months?
