So I bought my new PS4 on Monday the 30th and it setup fine, connected to the internet, no issues except I can't log into PSN. Whenever I try and log in it gives me, "This service is currently undergoing maintenance" despite the fact that there is no maintenance going on, there's no other error codes, just that message. I've spent the past couple days dealing with it, I've went through all the steps in this troubleshooting guide (https://connection.support.eu.playstation.com/#/), I've reset my router, I've connected over ethernet and wifi, I've talked to PS Help on Twitter and initialized the PS4 using the latest software off a USB drive (even though the PS4 was already up to date). I've called my ISP (Virgin Media) and spent three hours having them try and fix the problem, including opening the ports on my router and setting up the PS4 ethernet cable connection manually. Nothing has worked. The only possible reason I could think for it not to be working is because I have a powerline adapter so I can get ethernet in my room but everything I've read online says it shouldn't affect it and should just act like an extra long ethernet cable. Anything else I can try because so far my PS4 experience is sub par.
After spending hours on the phone with Virgin they said it's a PlayStation problem because there's nothing wrong with the internet connection just signing in to PSN but I'll take all the help I can get.@S2N-Ava
It's the equipment that Virgin use. Something to do with the Chipset.
