Connection to EA Servers

Sorry if this is a duplicate post, the forums arnt that user friendly in finding things but is there still ongoing outages with regards to games that have to connect to external networks?  I have been trying to play Battlefield 1943 since the network came back up but am constantly told that I am unable to connect to the EA servers.  Looked on the EA site but couldnt find anything about it either.

Cheers

Try putting your PS3 in a DMZ or port forwarding...EA's servers are particularly picky about blocked ports.

Could this just happen out of the blue though? I have played Battlefield 1943 tons of times before the Sony network went down and now it just wont connect. Is there any documentation around for doing the above?

They've rebuilt the network from the ground up and added security, so even though the customer facing side is the same as before, it's highly unlikely that it's the same under the bonnet. Stuff that worked before won't necessarily work now.

There's a thread here that helps with putting your PS3 in a DMZ, which is good advice for any online gamer whether they have connection problems or not.

Forgot to reply to this, for some reason I can just connect again now so not sure what was going on.  Thanks for the advice though :D
