Can I ask all those who have Sky Broadband as their ISP and who have had PSN sign-in issues since Wednesday night/Thursday morning to make themselves known here please?

Please, only those on Sky, and only those since Thursday.

i have never had a problem connecting my ps3 or pc to the net with my sky package, but i cant for the life of me get my psp to connect, if anyone has had this problem can you tell me what you did to sort it (its the sagem router, looks like a mini sky box)

You may have to add the psp,s mac address to the wireless access list in the router mate.

I got 0.65 on my speedtest.

 

I ran Sky and they basically said it was my computer and nothing to do with the connection. They said Speedtest.net does not show your connection speed, it shows the speed of the site. Bloody idiots.

Im switching from Virgin Media to Sky soon,

i hope i dont get theese problems.

 

When you say you get signed out, does it happen when your playing the online game?

 

 

Is it better to connect the PS3 wireless or wired with Sky?

ATM, with VM, i am wireless!

 

Any tips or advice when i get Sky fellers?

Hi mate. Ive been with sky for 3 years now and apart from having to change the dns settings have had no problems at all. Only advice I can give you is sky max package is the best for online gaming. There is no fair usage policy on that one.

The problems gone, but sky connect users (like myself) are being throttled from 5:30pm to 12:30am, speeds are majorly slow, its nearly impossible to have a decent game during these times.

I would suggest to all to check out the exchange search from sam knows broadband and see if your exchange is LLU enabled.

sad to report, I was on the sky max LLU, and it too started to disconnect me using the PS3, not just in store buys, but radomly in games, so thankfully, I was in the end of my contract, and cancelled everything.

 

I'm moving back to BT for phone & internet (option 3 unlimited downloads with free black home hub), I've used them before sky, and never once had issiues like I had with sky.

Thanks for the warning, just managed to stop the BT order going through, instead, I've joined Idnet, getting the gamers package, Home Super Max, and going live on Tuesday 27th October.

 

I did have them a while ago, just after Virgin Cable put screws on download caps, so I know Idnet's OK.

At the moment, unfortunately I have no choice with which broadband I am on (hopefully this may change at some point, though).

If I had the choice, knowing Sky is not in our exhange, there is no way I would have gone with them. And we're paying pretty much a standard price for a substandard service. It would make sense if it was part of the package we're on, say at £5 extra, but definitely not at the price we're paying.

Certainly would have gone with them for the max package if they were (one of the very few packages without a fair use policy).

 

My recommendation? If the broadband company is not in your exchange, do not go with them.

 

As another user has pointed out, samknows.com is pretty good for knowing what's in your exchange (and usually elsewhere if you're moving, too).

I am still getting the problem, managed to sign in for like 5 minutes and that was it "youve been signed out of psn". Have spoken to sky twice, netgear and sony like 4 times and still no explanation to anything. its getting beyond a joke now. Sony gave me the dns numbers they didnt work opening ports didnt work! im really thinking of changing isp now i think the blame has gotta be on skys end.

I'm not a Sky Broadband customer but I'm getting the exact same issues as everyone in here. My ISP is UK Online (who coincidentally are owned by Sky). I'm even getting similar issues with XBL. Hope this whole situation gets sorted out soon. It seems that whatever changes Sky made to their own broadband services were also made to UK Online/Easynet too.
