Re: Dubstep fans!

I'm not all that clued up when it comes to dubstep, but I thought your tune had some very cool bits n pieces :smileyhappy: What sort of hardware/software are you using? I hope you're going old school with it... Computers just don't compare to the feeling you get when turning a ***** on a piece of vintage Moog gear... Omugh.

Also, and please don't take this the wrong way... What's with that low frequency ring modulated fart sound? I hear it on so many Dubstep tracks, and I can't help but wonder if the songs would be better without it... Probably wouldn't be dubstep, but I'd enjoy it more personally :smileyhappy: Then again... I don't buy dubstep so wth do I know!

All I know for sure is, you deserve more exposure than you're getting! You're clearly putting a lot of effort into your music, and I can do nothing but applaud you for your work so far :smileyhappy:

Keep it up!

Re: Dubstep fans!

haha im afraid it is computer :smileytongue: im using FL studio we gotta keep with the times dude :smileytongue: but i would love some proper hardware to work with a home studio is one of my dream things to own in my life. and that sound? we call it wobble bass lol its what makes it dubstep really without the beats would just be pretty much a grime instrumental since thats where dubstep developed from.

thnx for the vote of confidence too dude i try to put my music out there a bit not for any fame but just a little recognition and some feedback good or bad.

but my main music is hiphop but for some reason i just feel inspired to make dubstep tunes when im using the software, i take it your into music making too what kinds you into?

Re: Dubstep fans!

aye that's me :smileyhappy: They're the Moogerfooger units, and they're the most fun anyone can have haha. Sadly they're expensive, and one has been discontinued (Thankfully I grabbed that one earlier this year). There's 7 of them from between £220 & £500, but yeah... I love them. I still have 3 more to get! :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Dubstep fans!

I don't mean to put a downer or troll on the thread, but I seriously don't get Dubstep.

Re: Dubstep fans!

Nice, I'm not into all this wobble bass trend at the moment but I can appreciate the production skills. One thing I would pick up on, although it may just be personal taste, is that it seems a bit too steppy for me, like the standard kick snare kick snare pattern. I'd try mix it up with some other percussion, maybe wood blocks or chimes, even mixing up the kick pattern abit.
I'm also on my laptop speakers at the moment so can't get a real feel for it.

As for hardware, if there's one thing I will buy one day it'll be a Roland TR-808.
