The Ospreys, a Celtic League rugby union side, has introduced a policy that makes players "earn their boots". A saying that many football fans would be aware of.

The Ospreys play in white so:

Play 50 full games for the Ospreys and you earn the right to wear the coloured boots of you club, which are white in this instance.

Play 12 full international games for your nation and you earn the right to wear coloured boots of your nation, such as Red for a welsh man or green and gold for a South African.

The idea is to increase competition within the team and block this prima donna culture of players which has leaked out of football into rugby. Making the players "earn their boots". I would rather footballers earn something to make them stand out, nothing riles me much more in that sport than someone prima donna wearing gold boots when they are crap lol
