Tevez and De Jong had great games, Bellamy was pretty good too, very fortunate to get the penalty, but it's about time Utd got a couple decisions against them.

Saying that, I thought our overall performance was quite poor, Utd could have scored a few goals and that would be it for the second leg, and if we play like that at OT we well get rolled over.

Looking forward to round 2 :smileyvery-happy: !

EDIT - oh and 'FERGIE, SIGN HIM UP'

@FootieGamerUK, you are correct.

Tevez is pure scum. I disliked him before, but he stated he wouldn't celebrate and does so despite two lucky goals. The word dislike is now replaced with hate.

Oh and Mike Dean, what a Tw@t. Hopefully there is a better referee next week. As City didn't deserve a thing, we were the better team.

Re: Carling Cup Thread

The first Tevez celebration was aimed at chuckle and i don't blame him for the crap he's been spouting about fergie being right not to pay for tevez. The second one was sheer class though :smileyhappy:

Oh and heres maybe why Tevez gave it the "keep running your mouth" celebration after chuckle's reaction to his first goal.

Also, Rooney upfront on his own just isn't working. It rarely works. I just wish Ferguson would stick two upfront.

Owen should have started. United don't look as good with 1 striker as when they play with 2. And when is fergie going to realise that rafael and fabio are useless little *****s. Problem is our squad. The last few years i've been saying our squad wasn't strong enough. Without Vidic and Ferdinand our defence is a joke. Brown needs at least one of them to play with in the center and Evans has gone backwards in terms of ability (don't know if it's confidence but he's losing it). The midfield is packed with ageing or average players and Berbatov is just a lazy *****.

What bugs me about United sometimes is when we go to sleep when we score and it's happened again tonight. Then we wait until the last 15 minutes to wake up again.

This summer Fergie needs to offload some crap (Rafael, Fabio, Anderson, Fletcher) and get some talent in.

Keep up your glory hunting. Tw@t. You have no idea. Go support City. You're like those mindless fools on the official United forum.

Why don't you think or ask before running your mouth off. Firstly i've supported United since 84, got my first shirt in 88 (which I still have) and still have all the old memoribilia I used to collect when I was younger so a glory hunter I am not. Secondly I am not your typical red spectacle wearing "nothing is wrong" United supporter. Lets look at what I said shall we:

I said Owen should have started. United don't look as good with 1 striker as when they play with 2. Your last post says "Also, Rooney upfront on his own just isn't working. It rarely works. I just wish Ferguson would stick two upfront." so here we are on the same wavelength, United work better with 2 strikers.

Without Ferdinand and Vidic our defense is a joke. Brown and Evans definately need one of these to play with at center back as they can't lead the defense themselves. The second goal last night was due to their follow the ball marking. They give each other no confidence or direction. Vidic and Ferdinand look and act like leaders and marshall defenses very well.

Rafael and and Fabio are not good enough to wear Man United shirts at present. They don't like tackles where you got to get stuck in and give the ball away too much. If they are the future then they need to improve drastically or we're screwed.

The midfield is packed with average or ageing players. Anderson is average, fletcher is average, nani is average. How much longer can Giggs and Scholes (both legends) go on? They don't play regularly now and we have no-one good enough to replace them at present. Carrick is good but I think his performances are dipping in form as he has no-one consistantly in the side to play with and it's probably affecting his confidence as it would anyone else in that situation. Hargreaves is an excellent player but unfortuantely he is injured all the time. Parks best days are behind him now. Valencia seams to have settled now, provides good crosses and makes good runs and I think he's going to be a key player for us. Considering the boots he had to fill in that position.

And Berbatov has always had the potential to be such a great player, but just as spurs found out he is lazy. If he worked anywhere near as hard as Rooney or the likes of Tevez he'd probably be top scorer in the prem.

I'll support United until I die but I want to see players with commitment in their play. When Rooney plays you can see what it means to him, same with Vidic, Ferdinand, Van der sar, Scholes, Neville. I don't see it with Anderson, Berbatov, Nani, Rafael or Fabio.

Haha, never saw that, what an absolut c**t Gary Chuckle is, hope the FA are looking into that, I also saw that Shrek was shouting something to Tevez when he was running up to take the pen.

Well done Carlos for the celebrations, don't take no s**t off these bunch of idiots.

Why are people saying we won from 2 lucky goals though? OK the penalty we shouldn't have had, but the second WAS a corner. We had just as many chances as you, either team could have had 3 or 4 goals, it's all about taking chances.

Re: Carling Cup Thread

I was kind of disappointed in the end as they were definately there for the taking after that second goal when they pushed on more and more. Just a shame we seem to replace all our counter attacking pace (SWP replaced with Sylvinho and Tevez off for Benji) 'cause the break was definately on if we wanted to.

But its a lead to take to the swamp, albeit a slender one and now i'm looking forward to next wednesday.

Also, having watched highlights on youtube now, it looks like Rooney says something like "Watch the post" into Tevez's ear.

It is as you say Mikk all about taking the chances. You can have more posession than the opponents, more total shots, more shots on target, but it means nothing if you don't find the back of the net. Last night we had 9 shots on target to your 5 but we only got 1 goal to show for it.

Everyone knows it wasn't a penalty but that's how football goes sometimes. Your second goal was nothing to do with being lucky. It was poor marking. Brown and Evans both chased the ball leaving no-one marking the center, if Tevez didn't score whoever was behind him would have. Tevez was gifted an opportunity and he took it.
