Good to see Williams win but F1 is becoming a bit of a joke. Hamilton is put to the back of the grid for accidentally being under-fuelled but Schumacher only gets a 5 place grid penalty for smashing Senna off the track? :smileyindifferent:

Its about time you made a post with abit of sense......lol

I had a suspicious feeling we might see one in 2012. I knew for certain it wouldn't happen in a football thread though. :smileyhappy:

1st repeat car winner (red bull) but it is now 6 out of 6 in terms of drivers winning and i think this is in the record books as Webber won the Monaco GP. and the rain turn up a bit too late this time around

inside an F1 car.

sauber have spent 2 years cutting one of their old cars in half to show you what goes on inside these feats of engineering.

Re: Formula One Thread

SEVEN races. SEVEN winners. :smileyhappy:

And that race was amazing, I don't understand the BBC where they say that it was a relatively quiet affair until the end because there was plenty going in further down the field, there were three seperate four car races going on through the event which is why the camera's switched to following the battle for fourth place and battle for eighth place. At one point, they even showed a three car battle for something like tenth place.

I feel sorry for Schumacher because that man has had no luck at all this season, I hope his luck does pick up and that he can get a win at the next race. Can it really be possible? Eight winners in Eight races?

This is probably the craziest season for a long long time, and we have had some amazing races in the process as well. Formula One is looking really healthy right now, I doubt any of the drivers or teams have any complaints about the way the sport is being run this season.

tbh I think horner, domenicalli & dennis have all to a degree criticised this year, as have webber, schumacher, button & alonso... I can't say I don't agree with them to a point.

Something all of the above have alluded to is that there's no way to tell how to work the tires, dennis said after canada its just pot luck if you manage to switch them on or not, the telemetry is giving absolutely nothing in terms of information on why the tires have reacted the way they have , which is just bizarre.

I'm sure from a spectator point of view its fantastic to have such a random season but for me that's the point, its random, not the result of research, development & bringing updates, so on one hand its a good thing on the other I think its gone maybe a touch too far the other way.

As for the race I think it had plenty of action most of the way through, grosjean & perez having to come through the field provided some good racing throughout, webber just seemed non existent & surely massa pretty much digging his own grave, first couple of laps he had stunning pace until he binned it , which pretty much shows why if this isn't his last season at ferrari then I can only assume some kind of deity has intervened.

This race pretty much summed up schumachers season so far, stats say that if schumi had finished the races he has retired in so far this year he'd be right in the hunt for the title, if he'd actually won monaco like he had a pretty good chance to from pole had he started there he could have been leading the championship , I would imagine this is one of if not his most testing time in F1 & A win could do him the world of good.

Button, well his seasons spiralling downwards at an alarming rate pretty much summed up by a less than impressed race engineer at the end, quite a blatant statement which you'd be supprised was chosen to have been said on the radio rather than the privacy of the motorhome & button himself just seems to have no idea as to what's going on - button confused & very lost

hamilton seems to foreseen how this season was going, 6 races in without a win he seemed as calm as could be , with his attitude now paying off leaving canada with his first win of 2012 & the lead in the drivers championship & with the next race in valencia, a track in characteristics not too far off canada, a tight street style walled circuit with long straights & heavy braking zones & I would imagine similar track temperatures you'd say it should play into hamiltons hands but frankly hulkenburgs probably just as likely to win , personally I hope the teams start to get on top of the tire performance & start to understand them to bring a bit more rivalry into the season , but with valencia & silverstone on the horizon , 2 tracks hamilton tends to run well at I would say he stands a very good chance of double his win tally for the season sooner rather than later

Re: Formula One Thread

Valencia this weekend, anyone think there is any chance of winner no.8, or will someone become 2012's first double winner? Personally, I hope Schumacher does well this weekend, he's had some rotten luck (some of it his own fault), and I can't see him going the whole season without winning. Raikkonen is another who I think will win a race this season
