Re: Formula One Thread

It hasnt worked though has it. Honda fire Jeff Willis. 2007 car is fundamentally flawed. Gil De Ferran quits. Red Bull snap up Jeff Willis. Look out Honda. Unless they sort themselves out they are going to be overtaken by redbull, who as a team push in one direction.

there is a strong chance of that, but they will just pass them again when there gearbox blow itself up

17. LIUZZI Toro Rosso 1m34.907s
18. KOVALAINEN Renault 1m34.921s

20. SPEED Toro Rosso 1m35.643s
21. SUTIL Spyker 1m36.340s
22. WINKELHOCK Spyker 1m37.116s

Main points to note. A good start by Lewis Hamilton. Looks like he maybe in with a shot this weekend. Ralf Schumacher is answering critics well, by once again out performing his blisteringly quick team mate Trulli. Excellent job by both Honda boys Button & Barrichello. Looks like their working hard. Finally DC once again out performs his widely considered faster team mate Webber. Good performances this year have earned DC his seat at Red Bull next year, so good work.

Re: Formula One Thread

So much for Renault challenging BMW! BMW are right with Ferrari and McLaren though. This is gonna cause headaches for one of the teams. Good midfield scrap developing between Honda, Red Bull Toyota and Williams though. Good job to the Aguris for beating Renault BTW

Well its honours even between Kimi and Lewis over the two sessions, so they have got to be the two to look out for. Ralf put in yet another great performance, is he beginning to turn his season around? A great lap by Button at the death to propel the struggling Honda to eighth again, actually ahead of both BMW's, which I dont think I have seen done at any time this season. Also as noted by Walesracer the Renaults struggle again. Despite making encouraging noises in the press, are they slipping backwards?

Re: Formula One Thread

Well again this session is showing a promising midfeild battle. Mind you Ralf is definatly going to be a headache for Alonso. 0.031 seconds of a Mclaren, Toyota have majorly improved and Ralf has silenced his critics possibly keeping him at Toyota next season.
McLaren sure have upped their game so the battle is still on.
This seems to be the catagories for the race if they stay this way
McLaren + Ferrari
BMW+Toyota
Honda+Williams+Red Bull
Super Aguri+Renault
Spyker+Toro Rosso

Re: Formula One Thread

Yep i've noticed. I rember Martin Brundle saying something about the Mclaren drivers put a new set on when they go into the press conference, so that the sponsors are all nice and shiny. Maybe Fernando forgot???? The first time I noticed it, he had been following Lewis all race so I thought it might have just been dirt. Will check again this weekend.

Ralf got into final quali at Silverstone...... Believe me I was there. Had to keep rubbing my eyes, thought I was seeing things. Too much sun probably.

Re: Formula One Thread

have you ever seen hamilton after the race or quilly? first thing he does is throw a big silver watch (must be from the sponsers) and he always rubs his forehead and flicks his ear with his watch hand, just to get it into shot.

Re: Formula One Thread

Just realised that the Friday sessions were done in wet/damp/green conditions. Might explain why some people are higher up than they should be. However we'll see by Saturdaypractice
