TNA WRESTLING INVADES ST. LOUIS FOR MAJOR APRIL PAY-PER-VIEW

(January 23, 2007) - Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling has announced that "Lockdown 2007" will be held live at the Family Arena in St. Louis on April 15, airing exclusively on Pay-Per-View.

TNA President Dixie Carter made the announcement on Tuesday night on "The Stranglehold" radio show (KFNS 590 AM) in St. Louis. She also confirmed that the April weekend in St. Louis also will include an all-access chance to meet the stars of TNA at "TNA Fan Interaction" which puts the stars of TNA up close and personal with the fans for a once in a lifetime meet-and-greet opportunity.

"Lockdown" is unlike any other wrestling Pay-Per-View in that every match takes place inside TNA's infamous Six Sides of Steel, promising some of the most unforgettable moments of the year.

The announcement comes on the heels of St. Louis Cardinals shortstop and World Series MVP David Eckstein announcing that "Team Eckstein" would battle "Team Pierzynski" led by Chicago White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski, on Feb. 11, at the "Against All Odds" Pay-Per-View in Orlando.

Tickets for "Lockdown" will go on sale at 10 a.m. CT, Friday, February 16, at the Family Arena Box Office (2002 Arena Parkway, St. Charles, MO 63303), all Metrotix outlets, online at Metrotix.com or by calling (314) 534-1111.

Several TNA stars will be in St. Louis for the on-sale event. Full details about the Feb. 16 autograph session will be available at TNAwrestling.com.

Not huge news, but news none the less. TNA moving around more is good news, maybe they'll come to the UK soon. Lockdown is gonna be something too, I missed last years

Another bit of news (sort of) Jake "The Snake" Roberts did an angle at the 1/13 FIP show in Crystal, Florida. He said that the initials WWE stood for 'World's Worst Wrestling'. Backstage, he gave a 30 minute speech to the entire crew on ring pyschology. Also, Gregory Helms was at the show.

WWW

I've heard that Gregory Helms is a backstage leak too

TNA's X Division could very well be something of a legit sport's division. The booking team is looking to do a new concept that would differentiate itself from WWE. Their current idea would be a "shoot" style X Division which would feature a time limit in all the X Division Matches. The outcome of the match would be in the hands of real judges as they'd decide the outcome as a shoot on who was legitimately the best performer in the match.

I'm not liking that idea to be honest. X Division produces the hottest matches in wrestling today, the formula works, it doesn't need to change IMO

Popular Hip Hop website AllHipHop.com is reporting that musician Mele Mel is trying to become a WWE wrestler. No word yet if this is a publicity stunt.

erm....

Re: Official Wrestling Thread.

Esco, the joke was that I actually like some rap i.e. Tupac, Eminem, NWA etc.

And the Boogeyman is a similar age to Mele Mel, and Terry Funk and Ric Flair are in their sixties. Age shouldn't be a problem. I just hope he has ring skills. If he does, best of luck to him.

I agree with Pop.

But Metal is the best genre. Actually takes some talent to produce some songs. Unlike in certain other genres.
