Spurs Set to Say Bye Bye to Jol?

Martin Jol is on the brink of the axe at Spurs after an amazing row over Dimitar Berbatov. Boss Jol stunned club chairman Daniel Levy last week by wanting to sell his star striker. And it was Jol’s astonishing outburst which prompted Levy to sound out Seville coach Juande Ramos about taking over at White Hart Lane. Source - The Sun

Re: Spurs Set to Say Bye Bye to Jol?

Agreed. It'd be just madness to let one of their best managers ever go. Has got them into the Uefa Cup twice in a row and up until the somewhat, poisoning, on the final day of the 05/06 season, they were very close to a Champions League spot and that alone is a acomplishment. The start of the season doesnt decide if you should be let go. I mean, look at Utd. 2 draws and a loss, 5 points behind Chelsea and you dont see us calling for Fergie's head after 3 games (Although Fergie's done a lot during his time so I guess he is to be respected to give some time) If Spurs do let go on Jol, it'll most likely be the most stupidist mistake ever.

Re: Spurs Set to Say Bye Bye to Jol?

I disagree...so much. Fergie has done alot for Utd in the 20 or so years he's been at Utd. 11 premiership titles, 5 or so FA Cups, a European cup as well as a treble in 99 plus more. And while Jol is a brillant manager, he isnt up to the standards of Fergie so if push came to shove and if I had to choose, I'd pick Jol as he's lower in the food chain compared to Fergie.

Spurs would have finished 4th in 2005/2006 if Arsene didn't poison their food

Anyway, it would be absolutely stupid to get rid of him.

Jol has done as much at Spurs as Fergie has at U.

Re: Spurs Set to Say Bye Bye to Jol?

The whole Spurs situation at the moment seems crazy, can't understand what's going on. Before the season started I got the impression all was rosy, then they lose two games and suddenly it's like they're in crisis. Fans are ******, manager wants Berbatov out, chairman wants the manager out. Crazy. Think everyone at Spurs just needs to chill out, count to ten and see what the situation is in a couple of weeks.
