Re: Barclays Premier League Thread

I've seen Demot Gallagher on SSN and he said that the referee was right to give just a yellow card.

A red card can be given for denying a "clear goal-scoring opportunity".

Michael Owen was going away from goal, he didn't have control of the ball and Glen Johnson would have been getting there in time which doesn't constitute for a "clear goal-scoring opportunity" in the Rule book.

Ok, so now we have seen two ref's agree it wasn't a red, will a ll the United fans please stop bitching about it?

On a side note, what squad do you reckon we will go with against Arsenal, I reckon....

                      --Reina--

  Johnson -- Ayala -- Agger -- Insua

               -Aquilani -- Lucas-

                     -Pacheco-

     -Babel-          ---             -Riera-

                       -N'gog-

(I'm not sure if Riera is fit, if not put someone else there)

Reina won't play i think, Aquilani will probably be on the bench maybe last 20 minutes he will come on as he did against Sunderland Reserves, not sure on Lucas either as he seems to have cemented a position of being an important 1st Team Player, so doubt he will be starting. Johnson also i don't think will be risked for this match as he had just come back from a niggling injury.

Dossena, Darby, Kelly (if Fit) will probably play. I think Spearing will definitely be playing, and Voronin may get a good run in.

I fully expect the same sort of team we put out against Leeds, more or less the people who have to prove there ready for the first team or to get more experience playing.

Yeh, that formation would be good I reckon. Really want to see Pacheco start for the first team. Should be great to see Aquilani too if he does play and by the sound of it he will feature.

I reckon thats a fair bet, but I think Kelly and Riera may not be fit, and Aqua man may only get 45 minutes.

Re: Barclays Premier League Thread

Bit off-topic as it's a league cup game but meh I think it will be

GK: Cavalieri
LB: Dossena
CB: Skrtel
CB: Ayala
RB: Darby
CM: Plessis
CM: Spearing
CM: Lucas
LW: Babel
RW: El Zhar
ST: N'gog

I'd like to see Pacheco start but doubt it, also Kelly may be unfit so Darby can play RB, Plessis has some experience so should play and Aquilani will come on as a sub later on I'm sure, really doubt he would start!
