Re: Barclays Premier League Thread

If Carroll gets in the England squad ahead of Gabby Agbonlahor then Capello has a screw loose.

You're acting like all games in the Premiership are easy. United still haven't lost, Liverpool have lost twice. So who should be the ones that should be worried?

Re: The Football League Thread

Great win for us, should have been far more.

We absolutely dominated for most of the game, should have been at least 3 up when they equalised with a very good goal. The ref then gave Cardiff a penalty, but thankfully the lino over-ruled it, then Nick Barmby came on and scored a goal in seconds :smileyhappy:

Commoli was at the Borussia Dortmund game for the 3rd time in the last few weeks...I wonder who he was scouting, hopefully Hummels or Goetze! :smileyhappy:

Also Shelvey  got MOTM on his debut for Blackpool!

Re: Barclays Premier League Thread

A seemingly undeserved win today, ref made a couple of poor decisions, both the penalty and the disallowed goal could easily have been given.

However, a result is a result, Krul made some class saves, the last ditch defending is not nice to see but always good to know we're effective at it when we need to use it, and the midfield two of Cabaye and Tiote still look rather good

THIRD IN THE LEAGUE :smileysurprised:

^^ amazed at how well it's going for newcastle. really thought with pardew at the helm they'd struggle. shows that team spirit is sometimes worth more than stars worth millions and millions.

I agree, I remember before the season started people where predicting they would struggle and eventually get relegated...it doesn't look like that also I think they have some of the best fans in the league even when they where relegated they still had a full stadium!

I hope they do well this season.

Gaspereni (Sacked last week) was an idiot for selling Santon for £5mil, hes one of the best prospects in the world.

Times are good indeed. The team spirit looks great, and it seriously helps we've developed a class looking goalkeeper, aswell as finally having what seems to be a solid CB pairing. Cabaye in the midfield for 4m is looking like the buy of the season imo, although we haven't seen any of Santon (5m) yet :smileywink: The squad is also looking great, strikers scoring goals, with plenty on the bench. Can't wait for Ben Arfa to get back to full fitness.

And actually assasin, I believe when we got relegated we were still selling on average 40,000 tickets to each game, not bad in a 52,000 stadium :smileytongue:
