Re: The Tennis Thread.

Wawrinka didn't really put a fight up against Federer. Even when Federer was only serving at just over 50%, he managed to win the set. He had a lull at the beginning of the third set but other than that, easy enough. He may have a tired Monfils after his two day five-setter but then again, Monfils is a great athlete. Djokovic on the other hand has a lot of time to prepare for Federer now.

I think Rafa was quite lucky to get through today. He was awful from what I saw, up until about a set and a half. But Ljubicic was equally as poor, looked as if he didn't want to be there. Can't help but think that if Verdasco was still in, he would have knocked Nadal out in 3. But as you say, Soderling - Nadal up soon. The winner of that will probably be in the final though because Murray was apparently clearly injured today.

Re: The Tennis Thread.

Wawrinka seems to always suck against Federer besides one match. But yeah hopefully Monfils has recovered well and makes a match of it today.

I think the exact same regarding Verdasco beating Nadal there, absolutely awful from both yesterday, even Falla vs Chela was a higher quality match :smileyindifferent: Honestly can't see any way Nadal will beat Soderling, I do expect him to play a lot better but asking him to play near his best after his recent performances is asking for way too much. Yeah true, but hopefully Murray finishes Troicki off today, should have never have gone 2 sets down and well Troicki or Chela in a GS SF is... :smileyindifferent:

Re: The Tennis Thread.

 Well he won in the end, was never in doubt considering how Troicki chokes like all the time.

Awesome SF set up in the bottom half though, Novak should beat Roger quite comfortably as well.

Re: The Tennis Thread.

Soderling messed up big time! Oh well at least 2 good semi's on paper, wouldn't be surprised if both are really one sided though.

Good luck Nadal, not that he'll need it.

Re: The Tennis Thread.

Nadal was better yesterday but Soderling was very poor. The first two sets had him hitting the ball nowhere near how hard he can hit it and if he isn't hitting the ball hard, he's not going to win. Was slightly better in the third but for someone who was having a good tournament, poor showing.

Murray looked like he had recovered in his quarter final. He "should" now give Nadal a run for his money.

The other semi is quite even I think. Djokovic is on his great run and so confidence should be high but not playing since Sunday could harm him. I think any four of these players actually have a good chance of winning it this year.

I watched the second set of the Sharapova - Na match. Double faults killed her today.
