Tour De France

British rider Brad Wiggins will be aiming for a podium finish when the Tour starts this weekend. Anyone intrested in cycling and enjoy watching these super human athletes?

Aye. really got into cycling over hte last few years. really is a great sport. And i htink super human is a bit of an understatement.

Mad end to the race, luckily wiggins crashed in the second crash which was inside 3k. so he only + 6.

Hopefully Thomas can get the Yellow Jersey tomorrow.

Good man, it's nice to see cycling fans on here.

It's a shame Team Sky couldn't pull off the win today but 3rd was a good result.

Sad news, Brad Wiggins is out of this years Tour with a broken collar bone.

He was in the best form of his life aswell.

Congratulations to Cadel Evans on winning the Tour. This has been one of the best Tours I have seen in a long time. This really is the toughest sport in the world without a doubt imo, pro footballers take note.

Next time you roll about on the pitch with a tap on the ankle , think of these pro riders, who come off at speeds of 40+ miles an hour and get up more or less straight away. Next time you complain about playing two games in a week,, think about these pro riders who have just rode for 3 weeks with just 2 days off. They also race week in week out from the month of January straight through to October/November.

All imo of course, iam a football fan aswell.:smileyhappy:

Re: Tour De France

I don't remember posting in this thread a year ago :smileyvery-happy:

Anyway, I might tune in for the scenic parts of it. I went and saw a stage last year :smileytongue: Might post pics but didn't realise how fast riders flew by. I blinked and missed a group of them :smileyhappy:

Re: Tour De France

I was in Paris (but not on the Champs) for the final stage last year - special to see Cav go past in green!
Thinking of going to the Champs this year if it looks like Brad and Cav will both have jerseys this year. Fingers crossed! Same thing for the Olympic road race - hoping for a great performance there as well.
