Re: Uefa Champions League Thread

Chelsea played well and deserved to be in the final.  The supensions in the final will not help chelsea at all and everybody thinks it's going to be real madrid v chelsea in the final, real madrid still have to beat bayern munich tomorrow, but bayern are determine to get to the final as it's being played in their own ground.  It's not going to be easy for madrid as what we saw today.

Re: Uefa Champions League Thread

Spanish paper Sport is really, really butthurt over their precious Barcelona getting knocked out of the Champions League by an English team:

"It is difficult to explain how the club could throw away a match in which they were so infinitely better than their opponents. The Chelsea team at Camp Nou was like that of the first leg at Stamford Bridge, stingy, cowardly, miserable."

I would not hold it against any Chelsea fan to troll that paper now, they should email them in their tens of thousands on a massive troll compaign.

Re: Uefa Champions League Thread

That probably has to be the worst moment in the Guardiola reign. 2-0 up and qualified, gifted a red card and penalty, and they concede twice, with two horrible bits of goalkeeping from Valdes. Personally, I think the problem with this game was Barca overloading the midfield. The player I think would help them most in every game they've lost this season is someone who Pep and Messi already chucked out, Eto'o. Their loss.

Those suspensions look like they are going to leave Chelsea really exposed in the final. A Paulo Ferreira - David Luiz partnership for a CL final? I'd no longer be worried about Ramos or Xabi missing the final, I would just be sad for them.

I have to agree with DANTE though, you cannot expect a Real Madrid - Chelsea final. I consider Bayern on the same level as us and Barcelona this season. We've also played the same XI in two consecutive energy-sapping games so hopefully the players suffer no fatigue.

I think Marcelo playing this game would be the most important thing for us. With Arbeloa and Coentrao, we invited Bayern to attack us because there was no threat of our fullbacks overlapping so even Lahm and Alaba joined in. But knowing Mou's love for Coentrao in Champions League games, I'd expect the same team once again.

Remember some of the articles in our papers after the 2009 semi? No different + Sport are telling it how it was tbh.

i could go with the first adjective. but to call chelsea cowardly and miserable is just laughable. it could be argued that barca are also cowardly and miserable. they only know one form of attack - through the middle. they are so stiff in their tactics they don't know how to change them. or it could be they're afraid to change - cowards. that they don't change makes them a one trick pony - albeit a very entertaining one-trick pony.

Re: Uefa Champions League Thread

If they werent such a team of midgets they might be able to play some balls into the box and get some knock downs. They can only play one way as they are 5ft nothing from midfield going forwards.

Don't blame Chelsea for playing the way they did at all, just think the description of their performance by the Spanish papers is the truth - it was cowardly, but it worked.
