Emotionally crushed..

Yesterday I saw Requiem for a Dream.

After afterwards I saw Graveyard of the Fireflies.

I still haven't recovered.

So, what movies made you cry yourself to sleep?

Re: Emotionally crushed..

Just got home from the cinema and I saw Water For Elephants. I cried from beginning to end pretty much, and I have come home feeling completely emotionally drained.

I swear the last year I have gone from being someone who was quite reserved with emotion to someone who crys when a puppy does something clever. Weird!

Re: Emotionally crushed..

I refuse to watch any movies where the animal is the star, I've was emotionally scar by bambi at a young age and it's a definate no go if theres a dog involved.
The only films that have me sobbing like a girl are Leon ( the end when she's putting the plant into the ground and Stings Shape of my heart kicks in) I'm actually welling up now thinking of it.
And the end of The Green Mile kills me every time.

Re: Emotionally crushed..

No films have made me cry myself to sleep, but there are some films that have shocked me to the core that i thought about those films for days and A Serbian Film, i had it on my mind for a few weeks.

I didn't know what to think, the production was excellent on this sort of film. And it had a plot. Even when Milos went down that rabbit hole it still had some sort of plot. Couldn't get my head round it.

Requiem was an excellent film. And shocking to, that one of the Wayans brothers could actually act when they not trying to destroy the spoof genre. (You know that genre is dying when films are making spoof pictures based on other spoof films)

[ Edited ]

Grave of the fireflies is pretty much the only film that gets me down, It wont make me cry but it takes me a couple of days to get over.

Mainly cause the first time I watched it, I knew it was based on a true story and wasnt expecting it to be like that.

Then I found out the following which contains a serious spoiler and should only be viewed by people who have seen the film.

Spoiler
Im warning you, I talk about the ending
Spoiler
Im serious, dont click if you dont want spoilers
Spoiler
The guy who wrote it, wrote it based on his life story, he is the older boy. The biggest change from his life made in the story is that he didnt die. He dies in the story because he often wishes he died with her, and often feels like he did die when she did..

Re: Emotionally crushed..

Yeah, I think viewing it as an adult would be totally different, some films just hit certain people harder..
