Rise of the Planet of the apes. in cinemas

Went to see it yesterday with high hopes of how they would be the story to a new audience and from a new much more modern and gritty angle. Being a big fan of the orginal I was highly antipating the release and I have to say that I was left speechless, the Director captured the theme of oppression and abuse against animals perfectly. That kid from harry potter did a great job of making you hate him! Franco brilliant and let's not forget Serkis. Motion capture has reached a new level in my opninion. At no point did i second guess the Computer generated apes for human beings in mocap suits. One scene in particular made the entire audience go quiet. Which i think nowadays is mostly impossible to achieve in a cinema full of middle class film goers, those of you who've seen it will know what scene i mean. Ceasar is now my favorite science fiction character simply because of unique Serkis's performance was. Can't wait for the sequel

I'm just an insect trying
to get out of the night
I am still with you
because there are no others
You are all I need

I haven't seen it yet, but I hear a lot of good things about Serkis' performance.

Apparently there's a push to get him in the runnings for an Oscar, but the academy awards people are too bloody snobby.

[ Edited ]

Was ruined at the end by the line,

Spoiler
"Ceasar is home."

Such a cheesy line, a simple "No" would've been so much more effective. Also Draco Malfoys American accent is terrible and it ruined his performance.

I thought it was very good, certainly a lot better than the last Apes movie.
