The Fast Show by Foster's (youtube)

Anyone caught the recentish mini episodes of The Fast Show on Foster's youtube channel?

Most of the original group are there minus Mark Williams which is a shame just think these new mini episodes were rushed using chucked out old scripts.

There is the odd good moment but i'd love see a full series with a better budget it just doesn't hit a fraction of the levels set with the original 90's and early 2000's series.

I've avoided looking into these new fast show sketches, mainly because other people have said the same as you about them, and I'd rather just remember them at their best. I don't know whether you've seen any of the Vic and Bob stuff? They are an acquired taste I know but some of their sketches have had me creasing up.

Vic and Bob were great when they were new, I think Vic Reeves is far too up himself, they were good but they're no Monty Python.

And the Fast show was great but I've been disappointed by some of their latest stuff. I liked Harry Enfield but I think now he seems always to be chasing something from long ago....it's like they're trying to capture what they used to have and there's no fresh feel to anything, like they've lost the recipe and are just chucking things into the bowl in the hope of a delicacy when all they end up with is tripe....and that's a real shame because they came up with some fantastic characters.

I can't get into Noel Fielding at all. Everybody I know tells me I should like him but I just can't be bothered to get into any of his characters.

Oh and Nevermind The Buzzcocks hasn't been the same without Mark Lamarr either.

EDIT - BTW has anybody been watching Dirk Gently? I loved the books but I haven't watched any of the TV shows.

Yeah, I'll agree with you about Vic Reeves being a bit up himself, if he's not with Bob I'm not really interested. Harry Enfields newer stuff isn't up to the same standard as his original stuff either, I think Paul Whitehouse is a proper good actor though, I'd like to see him doing more straight stuff in films (and no more of those f**king insurance adverts).

Noel Fielding isn't too bad, the Mighty Boosh stuff was quite funny, he's good with that Julian Barratt bloke. I haven't bothered with the new thing he's got out though...and it'll probably stay that way.

Mark Lamarr was easily the best thing about NMTB (what the fook happened to Lamarr anyway, it's like he just dropped off the face of the Earth), Never really been a fan of that Simon Amstell, I did see his stand up show on the tv a while back though and it was actually alright, made me like him a bit more.

Currently sitting in the office at work and Moonlight Shadow came on bringing a burst of laughter thanks to this gem from the Fast Show

Loved the Fast Show when it was on tv but have not watched any if their episodes for Fosters unlike the Reeves and Mortimer ones where I watched them. There were a couple that were not that funny but I have to say the rest had me in absolute tears
