Yup Vol. 1 is issues 1-6. There are 16 volumes so far so you've a lot to read 
. Only 2 volumes released per year I think so you'll always be behind a few issues compared to the single releases
I've found the cheapest place to get them is Amazon. Also if you don't want any possible spoilers from the comic that will appear on the show, I wouldn't read past Vol 2.

Yea i got it off Amazon came to £5.80 i think. yea im planning on getting them all once i read the one by one

Also one of the cool things I noticed with the volumes, if you place them side by side, the zombies printed on the covers all line up.

I won't read it, from what I have seen in comic forums there's big things a coming and it's upset some peeps
My other half pointed that to me whilst packing up our books when moving, pretty cool eh.
