Lately I just fancied watching a program from over seas in my UK living room, But there was so much red tape I had to get through to be able to watch; i.e...me, being in the wrong area for starters. So my point is this; how come we can't view/ listen to media from a different country? I'm so sick of British television and its boringness the samee-ness of programs thats repeated more than a full moon. I mean why all the red tape of copyright etc. I thought the whole point of broadcasting is that it's to let us in; in other countries. We should be able to watch/listen to what we like, when we like and how we like. If I was in power I would abolish region coding and copyrights for over-seas broadcasting so I am able to watch The CW network. So my freinds, it seems that the media industry is missing the whole point of broadcasting. If I just want to view things from the uk; I'd just step out my front door.
Sorry for the ridiculous post, but I had to get it off my chest ![]()

shh the grammar police is about, sorry are about!
but as for the op, the reason is money!
when our american cousins, make a show that many millions will want to watch, they first domesticaly selladvertising space during the show, then they sell it to the other channels around the world.
if every tom ***** and harry could watch it for free, how would money be made?
this also works the same way for british, shows. and for that matter all countries.
for example i get all the bbc channels on my sky package, (i'm in ireland)
but i cant watch bbc i player as im not 10 miles down the road in the north. go figure.
