Yep, enjoyed it but god I wish they'd shake things up. As much as I may laugh you know whats coming every single time, every joke is laboured etc. So as much as as I may laugh in the back of my mind I know its no where near as good or fun as it use to be, even the specials feel this way and i like those.

First off, get rid of the celeb speed laps - boring & all questions are vetted before hand... Zzzzz.

Re: Top Gear

Top Gear is the only programme on TV I genuinely look forward to watching and have done for years. But as W_H said they need to get rid of the celeb laps, no matter who they have on I always fast forward past them. It's a CAR show, I don't want to watch a trailer of a movie or watch someone try and shovel their new book down my throat.

Stick to the cars and entertain us and leave the chat show aspect behind.

Yeah I agree Hawk. They need to get back to reviewing cars what most people can afford and not just supercars aswell.

Re: Top Gear

Now you've got me back to thinking how I wish I could afford that Lambo :smileysad:

Can anyone really see the BBC shaking up Top Gear though? As much we want it or it needs it, its still Clarkson's baby so he probably has a bit to much say.

Re: Top Gear

Yeah it has gotten ridiculous in places. The jokes are old, it's cliched, predictable and needs to be reigned in a bit, but...

There isn't another car program out there that films cars the way the do on Top Gear. Take Sunday's episode. The way the segment at Imola was filmed was superb. Right kind of music, brilliant editing and it all looked genuine.

There was an episode a few years ago when they took a Ford GT, Zonda and a Ferrari to Frane. The whole time they were messing about, then right at the end they get to the bridge and Clarkson makes a point about engineering. The music, photography and what he was saying made it a great moment after all the messing about and laughter they bring you back in with a serious point.

That was just one example among many.

It may be Clarkson's baby, but even he has to listen to the masses. TG viewing figures are consistent as far as I am aware so the must be doing something right.
