Tron Legacy 3D

hey hey

i managed to watch tron legacy in 3D last night and i must WARN everyone. . .its not great.

go and watch it in standard 2D as the film appears to be poorly presented in 3D and the minimial 3D scenes that the film does have arent worth the bther and you wont miss much.

Re: Tron Legacy 3D

the film itself was a bit meh but artistically gorgeous.

the 3D really was awfull and seemingly pointless.  the majority of the film is in 2D and the 3D scenes are mostly sam flynn standing in the middle of the screen doing nowt.

the plot is shockingly thin and at almost 2hrs it went nowhere. dont get me wrong the film was beautiful to watch and the nostalgia element was certainly worth every penny i didnt pay.

young jeff bridges was [insert long list of superlatives]  however they did it, i was blown away. i think he is CGI and you can almost tell at times (due to crap 3D) but i have no idea except he was totally amazing.

Re: Tron Legacy 3D

the soundtrack scored by Daft Punk came out today, and i've got that and its great!

looking forward to the film, from reviews i've seen i won't be blown away, but its still an alright film to watch. if anything i will go for the spectacle of the thing, and the soundtrack (even though i've brought it. :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Tron Legacy 3D

I am a fan of the orginal and seen 26 min screening on it already and was quite impressed, but im not too bothered about the 3D thing and as long as its a good film.

I cant be bothered to think of a good signature.

The only parts of the film that aren't in 3D are the bits in the real world, about the first 15-20mins at the beginning and the last 5-10mins at the end, if that. The rest of the film is in 3D, albeit nowhere near as good as it could have been.

As for the story, it was a little poor and I was expecting so much more. The first film was awesome and still is, especially when you consider the special effects they had at the time for CGI.

As for this film, I wanted Battle Tank action as they had none whatsoever which was a real shame.

All I can say is, it seemed to be a film about Jeff Bridges role as Flynn, and that was about it. The plot was very thin on the ground and reminded me too much of the original. It was almost as if they had just watched the Original, couldn't think up a new plot, and decided to rehash it.

The two good things I will say about the film though, the Special Effects were top notch, but when you consider the expanse of the scenery in the first film, there appeared to be far more you could see all around than existed in this film.

And the Girl who comes to Sam's resuce. All I can say is, "Hot Leather Pants and Boots". :smileyvery-happy:

I agree on what people have said though, don't bother seeing it in 3D, as you really won't see anything all that fantastic, and its even worse when you have seen the Masterpiece of 3D which is Avatar.

Re: Tron Legacy 3D

It's worth seeing just to see Olivia Wilde in her costume.
