I doubt it, as there was the bit with Lucius Fox where he found out Bruce had taken the autopilot from the other aircraft.

Bane's fighting was brutal and very pleasing to watch.

In those daft M&M things before the film, someone said it was like a cross between Begins and Dark Knight, and they were pretty much spot on.

In a way, the Dark Knight had better scenes throughout the film, but they way Rises built up the ending made it so much more epic. After the football pitch scene, where Bane takes over, the whole thing is brilliant.

I think he is supposed to be alive yes,not just the Alfred thing(Not Albert,LOL),but Fox found that Bruce Wayne had fixed the Auto Pilot on the Batwing...which was a bit obvious that was going to happen,they wouldn't shut up about it all through the film,LOL

If Alfred had kept that story about being on holiday to himself or told someone else,or we the audience found out about his little fantasy somehow,then yeah i would expect it to be a dream of sorts,but he told it to Bruce at the point he had lost confidence in Bruce and was leaving because of it,and the end gave a way to show Bruce's support back to Alfred,now that he had finished(both with Gotham and Batman-Gotham Saved and Batman now regarded as a hero)

saw it today aswell, thought the film was good and kinda ok. was a bit muddled overall looking back on it, and im certain some little bits werent really needed at all, could have been left out and given the film a more tight and connected feel to it. but compared to most other films its still pretty awesome, though just not quite as well done as BB or TDK lol.

saw the ending as Robin taking over as the new Batman, as he can be anyone. anyone else think Bane sounded alot like Sean Connery at the start of the film? xD his voice was awesome after that though

Taken as a trilogy, which it will be done in the future, the whole thing is amazing - it is hard to think how it could have been done better.

You have the brilliant beginning, the epic ending, and the 'free ticket' in the middle which was the amazing Dark Knight. The Dark Knight was possible because you didn't have to worry about the set-up or the ending, just make every scene as great as possible.

For the last of the trilogy, in order to make the epic ending, you have the develop and tie-up the characters stories a bit more. That gives you, a seemingly slower start/middle to the movie, but personally, I like all that stuff, and it is what made the ending so great.

I think Rises might be my favourite of the 3, but it is really hard to choose.

For me TDK was over-rated, and BB was average, but the DKR, was simply AMAZING. By far my favourite of the three, the intro is without a doubt one of my favourites ever in cinema. The ending was PERFECT. They did it exactly how most fans would have wanted it. 10/10.

Very good film, prefer The Joker as a villian though, hes more cerbral. Bane was still brilliant and crazily brutal.

Having JGL become Batman was expected but the way it was done was great, as well as the little Robin nod too. Was that the same Batcave?

I watched this today and it was brilliant.  Tom Hardy did a great job playing bane, but I still think heath ledger's joker was the best villian out of the dark knight trilogy.  I also prefer dark kinght to this.  My order is: -

A fitting end to the best superhero series on film to date. I think Nolan had more than just a nod towards the comic book fans with this finale as well, leaving it open to continue in that vein; or to take it wherever the studio seems fit?
