some people just don't know what to say at times like that and alot just can't cope with illness. It doesn't mean that they're casting you aside so much as avoiding their own feelings of ineptness if that makes sense.
people are the same with bereavements and I've heard it said many times. It's the elephant in the room syndrome and some people will avoid the room altogether
they'd probably be horrified that they have made you feel that way too

Must be as hard for them as it is for me.
& I think Warren answered that question well haha, not alot currently, chatting with the other patients and nurses, having the occasional walk, and peeing a hella lot due to me needing to keep drinking fluids.
Oh and of course checking this forum regularly.
