that deserves a pic of the nurses - to see if they were worth stealing...

I'm sure you have a keyword alert on this thread everytime 'nurses' is mentioned. :smileytongue:
I promise to get you some pictures when I go in on tuesday.

The first thing we were told was that really nothing causes cancer, but everything like smoking to drinking are just risk factors. I think this is the point where the press blur the line. Hence why someone can smoke all their life and be perfectly fine whilst another may develop lung cancer or whatever it may be.

As you guys are going to vegas,

.....Thats why they call it sin city.

You guys might not know this but, I consider myself a bit of a loner.

I like to think of my self as a one man wolfpack but

when i first saw some of you guys in this thread i knew some of you were my own,,

The thought of the lot of us running round the desert, looking for 'fun' things to do as a whole wolfpack.........

Well it's a bit too large an experience to miss out on..

So can I join you lot for some of the stops on your voyage??

Wow, only 21 and had that misfortune already, just goes to show like you've already said, it can happen to anyone at any time no matter how careful you are.

Re: Ask a cancer patient anything

Has the cancer changed your outlook of life e.g. in regards to faith, karma etc if you believe in that sorta thing?

It was okay considering, the nurses were nice and made it the best it could be. Would have rather had a party with family/friends but life gave me that card and I just had to accept it. There was a slight annoyance though, I was due in for chemotherapy earlier, but they delayed it. So potentially I could've had my birthday at home after my first course. Coincidently I was ill on my 18th too. So yeah not a very lucky boy.

My favourite comedian is Gabriel Iglesias, my favourite music artist(s) are eric clapton and four year strong. :smileyhappy:

You might have to ask leigon to join us, I can see this turning into a hangover part 3 tbh though. :smileytongue:

Yeah, hopefully it's just a one off, however it seems promising as i found it early, only had it metasize to one lymph node after months of surveilence and i've heard a few stories of people with the same cancer type go on to not have a recurrence after chemotherapy. It has been a valuable life lesson though.

Yes and no.

In terms of faith; my dog died from cancer in November last year. The month before I found the lump. The night he died he was in a lot of pain (was due to be put to sleep in the morning) and I sort of wished that I could take his pain away, in return I got whatever he had. It happened.

Then in the february after my diagnosis, my lights would switch themselves on and off (the switches), a box in my room moved across the floor also. Creeped me out a lot.

In terms of karma, I've never really believed in it. Purely on the basis that i've lived my life as a good, honest, kind person but have always been the one who the bad things have happened to. I've had my fair share of good luck don't get me wrong (mostly competition related) but apart from that if karma does exist it doesn't work in the way we expect it to.

Re: Ask a cancer patient anything

About a month before I was diagnosed Azed, I woke in the middle of the night and there was something growling in my room, not like a dog or anything like that but a rasping, gutteral growling.

I laid there scared for about a minute, kinda coming round from my sleep and then jumped out of bed with one of those dumb 'RAAAR!!!' noises and ran over and switched the light on. I dunno to this day what it was or if it was a dream that blended into me waking up or what, but it was freaky.

I don't believe in ghosts or anything like that at all, but that puzzled me. I dunno, my mum (religious person) said it was a demon giving me cancer. I think that's nonsense btw.
