Just got a lovely Email today saying that BT 80/20 has been activated in my area. Jumped right onto it and tomorrow my line is changing to this. I need these speeds pretty much to achive an carrer in broadcasting games.

But anyway, has anyone got this yet and be willing to post there speeds =D I'd love to see the results

Re: BT 80/20 Hits FTTC

I am switching to BT infinity myself just waiting for my local area to go live. BT have emailed to say i will get 40/10 to start with increasing to 80/20 by the end of the year. BT Open Reach engineers have just installed a new cabinet in my street so i should get the full speeds plus the use of their Wifi hotspot networks will be an added bonus.

Been reading that on the BT forums actually, A lot of people seem to be getting even lower than there suggested, but some getting higher to, so I hope I do achieve a nice speed, I don't so much need the Download but I need the upload, and its a free '' upgrade '' so I might as well take it ^^. A BT man did come and replace my router a couple of weeks ago in perception for my upgrade (I all ready have FTTC) Did you alos get a new router by any chance? The new little white box thing? ^^

I signed up to BT last October and haven't had any new equipment since then.  I'm suppose i'm happy with whatever speed upgade since it is 'free' but did think it would be at least 55mbps.

BT infinite, isn't actually BT infinite. Read the small print :smileyindifferent:

We've had really bad service from them in the past, and their customer service is disgusting.

[ Edited ]

My Internet went down at 2am, 3mins it came back up and my Internet was upgraded. It will take up to 10 days to see full speeds but right now: Better than nothing I guess :/ ''Only'' a 20.1mb increase from 37mb
