Re: Did you hear about the China 'PISA' results?

BBC did a thing about schools in China. Let me find the video, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8cyb02YbU8

You actually need to do military training for 4 days before the start of Highschool, and 20 days when going to Uni.

So? They dont enforce that unless they dont have enough voulnteers and they always have too many.

But in european countries like Finland, Switzerland, Greece, Estonia all european countries, all demand a minimum of not 4 or 20 days but 5 months to a Year of military service.

Makes chinas offer look like a weekend break.

I think your confused or something? The Military training is compulsory, if you don't do it you can't go to Highschool. When I say Military training, its not full on stuff. It's not done by voulnteers either, its done by someone in the Army. How can 10 year olds starting high school even have a full service? What are you actually talking about :smileyfrustrated:

I think you're confused.

You said chinese people had to do military training to go go school, Forced military training is called conscription, currently because chinas population is so big they dont force anyone to do military training. They do not conscript.

My point was, why mention it in a derogatory way?

Half the world forces people to train for the military, Britain forces the bermuda people to join its done by lottery, people in finland and denmark etc like I mentioned have to join and not just a 2 week deal, they have to join and go away and fight.

What china does is just puts some uni students through a 2 week bootcamp, to remind them the army is their masters, China does not force anyone to join the army, they are listed the same as Ireland. But even if they did force people, so what? half the world does it anyway.

Derogatory way...? I believe I typed one line of text and showed no disrespect attitude. Your the one with an attitude here.. Its against EU legislation to force kids to join the Army. Why would a country make you go out and fight before you join a Highschool? Your talking about things I'm not talking about.

Derogatory way lol >.< My goodness... Some of the things GD people come out with. Very judgements I frown upon.. Do you want me to type and add pictures of flowers when I'm done ^^? I'm out of this topic now, before I'm accused of something else :].
