Drivers Installation

Can I install drivers from a disk to another hard drive? To a hard drive I'm not running at the moment.

I can elaborate if that doesn't make much sense.

Please use plain text.

You will have problems regarding the registry, you will have to make sure each dll file etc is in the correct place in the Windows folder and you will have to hunt down every registry entry and copy them.... there could be over a hundred and most will have no wording identifying it part of a graphics driver. Why not just look to see if there is a freeware version of Norton Ghost and make an exact copy of the hard drive you are using?

Re: Drivers Installation

Yeah, damn registry :/ ok what would Norton Ghost do? I'll have an exact copy of my hard drive. That'll come with the same problem I have. This hard drive won't boot up because it doesn't like the new hardware, but can't boot it up to install the drivers :/ I have hooked the HDD up to another computer and tried installing them but the drivers won't install because the hardware isn't there. Is there anything I can do?

First tell me what you have in your computer... a dedicated gfx card or just onboard? sorry, my bad.... just re-read what you wrote.

Remove the gfx card and tell your BIOS to output video through the onboard adaptor. Then go into windows and perform a system restore.

Re: Drivers Installation

Not sure that will work. I received my graphics card before my other parts and installed the drivers and card and it worked fine. I was running my old setup with a new card for a few days.

Re: Drivers Installation

Okay, so go back and restore to each point where each new piece of hardware was installed to identify the culprit. A PC should still work even with hardware installed on the mobo providing the the drivers are not there to cause the problem.

What kind of problem is it anyway? And what are your specs?
