I believe that the amateur meteorologist typically works alone.

 

I doubt that many of the professional ones socialise much with other people either.

 



I thought they hung out in groups. I'm sure there was some team in England who had a machine that could predict the weather a year in advance or something along those lines.

Yellow Warning issued by the Met-Office for London and Cardiff

 

Outbreaks of locally heavy rain will spread west across many southern parts of England and Wales this evening, overnight and into Thursday morning, with thunder in places. Totals of 20 to 40 mm are likely in places, falling on saturated ground. The public are advised to be aware of the risk of some disruption from surface water flooding.

There are 13 Flood warnings in place, issued by the Environment Agency for [South West, Midlands & Anglian regions] England  and 79 flood Alerts for [North East England, Wales and the South East England].

 

*Warnings issued by the Environment Agency are subject to change every 15 minutes.

 

Information and data is supplied by the BBC, Met-Office and the Environment Agency.
