"There was nothing out there I could buy..."
Yeah - there's a reason for that, and it's not a technological barrier or because it hasn't been concieved and tried. It's because wearing something that close to your eyes gives the majority of people a headache after a short amount of time.

It is actually a technological barrier.
its only the cheap stuff that gives people headaches, more expensive stuff with higher refresh rates, lower latency, better screens, wider angles of view, dont give people headaches. Motion sickness may give the person a headache but thats another matter.
The army has done lots of tests on it, and its not a problem, they have even developed contact lenses that allow you to focus on near objects as if they are in the distance, for example put the contacts in, and the display right infront of your eye you will have to focus as if iit was 10 foot away, there are lots of tricks they can do to get rid of any headaches.
These guys are focusing on the typical things that give people vr headaches, the lag, the latency, the low field of view and the low resolution. That would cover the majority of the people who get headaches from cheap stuff, and motion sickness and other things can use clever tricks to help.

Yeah because all those things are totally beyond our technological grasp.

grasp != barrier,
I and the video already stated that all the problems I had mentioned are fixed in more expensive headsets, the barrier is delivering the technology at a low price point, which traditionally proved impossible.
If like you say, the reason these wont work is because people get headaches and cant use them because of psychological issues with things close to their eyes, then apaches and fighter jets would fall out of the sky.
and because you like defining words for other people, here are the definitions for you.

Let's not forget Size + Weight.

true some of the expensive models kill your neck, which raises another question.
Its not a vr headset, but would you wear something the size of the f-35 helmet at home as a vr helmet?
