GD - Assemble!

Hey GD'ers.

I need you to spend my money for me.

I've got £1,000 to spend on an absolute beast of a laptop.

Now, my VAIO S Series gets some serious, serious abuse. It's not only a gaming machine, but its also used for seriously detailed photo editting, streaming video and generally doing things that would make a normal laptop commit suicide.

I've got a list of things it needs to have/be capable of, and a list of things I'd like. Can you help me by posting some links?

Must Haves:

1. Graphics are top-priority. To give you a benchmark, it needs to run FFXIV fluently on mid-high settings.

2. HDMI Port

3. Windows 7or XP. NOT VISTA.

4. An office package

5. Min 6GB RAM

Would Like:

1. Solid State Drive (128GB min)

2. 8GB RAM

3. Extended Warranty (no need for accidental damage or tech support)

Please offer any advice you can on brands and general performance too :smileyhappy:

Thanks muchly!

Re: GD - Assemble!

You might want to check out the new Vaio SB & SA-series! If you really want to have the best graphics, you probably want to take a look at Vaio F-serie.

Re: GD - Assemble!

You'd be hard pushed to find a laptop for £1000 or under with those kind of specs, especially with an SSD. I'll just have a look at some recommendations now.

I can push a little higher. 1K is sort of an ideal price.

If it's really, really sweet I wont pass up a bargain for 300 more.

Re: GD - Assemble!

Check the new Vaio S :smileywink: 7 hours battery in single charge + 7 hours more with battery sheet under it :smileyhappy: Well, that's what they say, so it would be probably run about 12-13hours in stamina mode with battery sheet.
