Who's to say those Asterisks and Beeps are covering up swear words?
People may just like leaving black spaces for other *beeps* to fill in with whatever *beep* words they like.
Exactly, I sometimes just post five asterisks, not a letter or a c*beep*t. Wrong that someone's getting people banned for reporting it, like I said, someone's using the report button to get at people because they can't do it themselves on the forum and we all know who that is.
Poor show IMO.

My dad was banned for swearing in that cheating wife thread, but he didn't swear at all, he asked me to post this for him, I'm only 9 and don't need this rubbish tbh.
I remember Asterisks but I don't remember any swearing.
If asterisks aren't a suitable replacement for swearing why do we have them? Surely a post containing bad language and/or *s should just be unpostable until amended? Otherwise they're a bit pointless if you get banned for them being present in your post. This applies to "Danny the mouse and friends" being removed too.
The asterisks are there as an aid not a loop hole or way around swearing or attacking others and getting away with it.
I'm pretty sure that if any member here found a post which was quite obviously aimed at them in a foul or attacking manner but peppered with asterisks due to the swear filter doing its job that user would still expect the appropriate action to be taken especially if the post was reported and its obvious what is meant and or intended.
The asterisks help keep the worst stuff/words from being visible instantly but posting something foul is still posting something regardless of whether it is aimed at someone or not and regardless of whether some words are blanked out or not.
And yes that is my family!
And yes I saw that post ![]()

When I watch road wars and the like they beep to cover up people names and addresses. Well that's what people tell me when I finish laughing after assuming the police are just very rude to people ![]()

Hmm, fair enough, although this does not apply to "Danny the mouse" I know you weren't the one who removed it so *shrugs*
As for my other post. Now I know you've seen it I expect a copy of said recommendation in my inbox. Thank you. ![]()

Yes but everyone does that as a joke where no swearing or offensive wording is actually used, same as some people use the asterisks to bypass the swear filter all the time yet don't get pulled up on it.
Such as the Danny the mouse thread, no swearing was actually in it, just a joke representation of the actual forum censorship but it was taken down because someone reported it despite it being blatantly obvious what the thread was about. We know who complained about it because the guy hardly makes a secret of it...in fact he's delighted in admitting it at times.
As I said, it seems as though some member/s use the report button as a way to get at certain people because they can't get away with it on the forum. I reported the same bloke for swearing and bypassing the forum filter but he's still posting, where's the equality and fairness in that when Warren's been banned for the same thing today?
